What I was looking for Alpine to bring out to the market was a 3" or 3.5" point source/concentric driver that could be paired with one of the status midbass drivers.

Can anyone explain how come the Status speakers are rated at 100 watts RMS and the DSP amp is only 50 watts RMS. 🤷🏻‍♂️ how that work?

Does Alpine work with any major OEM for their stereo/infotainment systems? If no, then why not? If yes, then who and on what car(s)? I ran a single-DIN Alpine CD HU back in the 90s in my Mazda 323 in order to run amps/separates/sub. Ahhh, the 90s, a great decade for car audio.

Eric, I have a honest question:

I'm very curious why the *Alpine Type-X* 6.5" and 6"x9" component midwoofers (which are a step below these new *STATUS* components) use smaller, more powerful, and more expensive Neodymium Magnets, and in a smaller form-factor basket that accommodates easier fitment in a wider variety of vehicles, while these new *STATUS* components use Larger, Cheaper common Ferrite Magnets, and also have much larger baskets which can be more difficult to fit and mount in a lot of OEM speaker locations???

This seems somewhat @ss-backwards to me considering these are the new "STATUS" series component drivers.

A few other questions:

Do any or all of these new STATUS component drivers use any type of Farraday Rings or "Shorting Rings" in the motor to reduce inductance and lower distortion?

I know that Alpine uses FEA and Klippel Analyzer measurements when developing these high end speaker products. Will you or Alpine share that data with us for these new STATUS drivers?

Or at least the full T/S parameters for each driver? Or is all or some of this information already available in the Owner's Manual/Tech Data Sheets for these products?

I would really like Alpine to try and get into the market of High performance Subwoofers and Mono Amplifiers. I own 2 X-A90M amps as well as 2x X-12WD4 and I love them much. Bass is clean and accurate and the subwoofers dont hold back as well as the amps. But I do wish Alpine would target above the 1000W threshold for there upcoming amplifiers. The X series subs and amps are great but I think it's time to turn up the dial to 11 and see some really high spec amplifiers and subwoofers that can go against the other big boys like sundown.

Why not make a processor that will take streaming from Apple CarPlay/Android Auto from suppress to high res. This would make sense for those who want to hear to great sound and not have 3 to 4 devices switching back and forth. However, thank you for the video and explanation all this.

Hello. My car's factory head unit does not acknowledge a hi-res signal, so I'd need to install the HDS-990. But I still (want to) use Android Auto. My question is...if I connect my phone (which contains my music) to the HDS-990, will I still be able to connect to Android Auto via a wireless connection? Also, the music streaming apps I use are in my Android Auto menu. Will they play via Bluetooth Audio in conjunction with the HDS-990? Thanks in advance...

Those tweeters are sweet and sound great. Alpine needs to release those as a standalone add on.
