Samsung QN90D QLED TV First Look | How Samsung Set the Bar

The Samsung QN90D 4K Neo QLED TV faces some stiff competition this year, but we have a feeling Samsung knew that when designing it. While the QN90D carries over much of the picture quality performance from its predecessor, the Samsung QN90C, there is a long list of new features to consider. In this first-look video, we talk about what Samsung brought to this model, consider some key measurements, and get some first impressions on picture quality. Still, as we dig in, we discover new questions to answer in our forthcoming review.

Oh, and as a bonus: Samsung is tossing in a free 65-inch TV to anyone who pre-orders the QN90D within the first three weeks of its coming out, links below.

While it’s clearly not the same as seeing the TV in person, it looks absolutely stunning in this video. That’s as much of a nod to your production values as Samsung’s quality.

$2699 for 65? No thanks. I'll wait until it hits $1300 in 8 months

I think this year the mini LED TVs are most exciting and most competitive than ever before. There should be a comparison test between Sony, Samsung, Hisense and TCL. And I forgot LG because they’ve changed their panel to VA panel which has better contrast, so they’re in the game for the first time.😅

Received a 43" QN90C last week and can't be more disappointed. The right half of the screen is much brighter then the left side. This washes out the colors on the right side. Also bad is the darkness in all of the corners and edges. Viewing angles are also horrible. I will be returning it and going back to my Samsung 4K from 2015.

I agree with the comment below regarding the price when released, who pays these prices?
Nothing wrong with waiting until the next model is due and then buy one at a sensible price.
The same applies to the new Sony models which will be way more expensive than this one.

It sounds like the almost perfect TV. But again, I'd rather see the price reduced a bit instead of getting an additional TV that I don't want or need.

The pricing on this TV is ridiculous compared to the QN90C, especially if you plan on using it primary as a gaming/PC monitor. The small incremental improvements don't justify the price when compared against the QN90C and it's current price.

Just amazing how good everything has become. Especially considering the cost to purchase.

I own the first edition flagship Qled, the 2018 Q9F. Wow I am blown away by that Nit number and colour accuracy. Previously I have been somewhat un moved by peak nit numbers in newly released qleds and nqleds compared to the around 1500-1600 of the Q9F. This has my mind wandering into ‘is it time for an upgrade’ mode 😬😁

Thought the QN95D would be Samsungs top model for 4K

I’m hearing the new 90 series are switching back to VA panels from ADS. Any chance you can confirm which panel will be used in the 85D series ? I’m looking for an 85” and need that higher contrast VA panel…

I’m thoroughly impressed with my 65” QN90B. That being said, it will probably be my last QLED.

Is this better than the Sony X93L in terms of processing and local dimming?

Can’t wait for the new Sony Mini-LED tech to just leave this behind honestly. Probably going to get one this year

Gotta give Samsung credit for sticking with the simple center stand on so many TV's...wish all makers did this!

Won’t buy a tv without Dolby Vision, no reason it shouldn’t be included at that price

Samsung is comfortable without Dolby Vision. I am correspondingly comfortable without Samsung.

Got the QN90C a month ago, I bought the QN90B but they messed up shipping. I was so impressed by the picture of the QN90C I decided to keep it. At the moment the 700$ price difference between the QN90C and QN90D is not worth upgrading.

I'm getting sick of Samsung refusing to just give up and stop punishing their customers with their refusal to support Dolby Vision, across every range of display and monitor they make. From phones to TVs to high-end monitors. My S24 Ultra, my Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 and my QN95A all don't support DV.
