The thing i found about brightness is that if your TV is too bright (like the QN90), you can always turn it down. If your TV isn't bright enough, there's nothing you can do to make it brighter

Basically if you have a bright room pick Neo QLED, if you have a dark room/you watch tv mostly a night pick OLED

Thanks! To answer your question, I'd love to see a C3 vs C2 comparison.

After 2yrs of deliberating I ended up buying an OLED and I have to be honest I was quite disappointed in the end. Yes the dark room viewing experience is unparalleled but coming from a Sony LCD with 1000nits full screen brightness, the LG just seemed so dull in comparison.

I'll be looking at the QDLEDs next year for sure.

This is why I really enjoy your videos KG...you really hit the mark. Oled vs Led..always the big question. But you answer it for me everytime.
On this video I appreciate the beauty of oled, but I personally am drawn to the brighter full screen scenes. I just like what led brings to certain images.

Thanks K G, agree that you have to choose your trade off, if you prefer perfect blacks then trade in overall brighter picture; if you want a brighter picture then trade in perfect blacks, no right or wrong choose what you want.

This was one of the best comparisons of the two technologies (QLED and OLED). You can really see the differences in different conditions. I'm torn on which one to use. Love how colors just pop when scenes are dark on OLED, but the C3 (OLED) isn't nearly as bright as the QN90C in bright scenes (QLED). Leaning on the QN90C for general purpose (both PC productivity as well as gaming).

Saw these 2 side by side in a store. 48 inch c3 and 50 inch qn90c. As the demo video cycled through sports, movie, animation etc the c3 was better every time. Also the qn90c had terrible viewing angles. Moving just slightly off centre and the picture immediately started to look washed out. Bought the c3. At first I was disappointed that the picture seemed quite dim until i switched off auto pixel brightness and wow! As bright as you could ever want.

I own both of these tvs and I wish my C3 was brighter like an LED in specific scenes like in the movie Dune. I have learned to use the contrast enhancer to punch OLED up a bit and it really helps out with highlight areas without wrecking the picture to me personally. But scenes that have a lot of black with stark color contrast the qled is not touching the oled. Both are great tvs in truth.

Hi KG, would you mind to add in a set of scenes for your upcoming oled vs mini led?
1) White background with different black font, grey font, static with various size for 3 sec.
2) Put a few lines of color bar vertically from left to right. Will there be any color/brightness change on the fonts?
3) Black background with different white font, grey font.
4) Put a few lines of color bar vertically from left to right.
5) A sudden change of timing with random fonts of white background to black background.

A demo films is calculated to hide the bads and show the goods, with this, its easy to see if the content is being artificial dims, brightness changed, and color lost.

Burn in is more a problem for QD-Oled then Oled. 8:28 C3 has way more detail.

4:48 really highlights the difference for me

I just want to put this here, don’t trust anyone who says modern oled’s wont have burn in. They will, they just happen to be less than a year old and don’t have that opportunity unless being heavily used for gaming (stagnant things like a minimap will 100% cause burn in).

Next, remember due to OLED nature, it will also dim and lose saturation over time even if you don’t use it. Organic things break down, and there isn’t much you can do about it.

If you want to have an OLED for all that it offers above specifically nano led tech, be prepared to buy a new one every 3-5 years with very little resale value, or your tv will be worse than almost all LED TV’s, not even nano ones.

That’s the OLED tax, being replaced.

Q90C hangs tough, but id take the C3; image looks a bit more detailed and clean overall on the C3.

Would love to see S90C vs QN90C vs LG C3, or even throw in S95B if u have one as it is cheapest tv among them all atm.

QN90C has better skin tone and colors in general. The only problem is blooming. Wheras C3 have many problems: ABL, ASBL, very low SDR brightness in gaming, and risk of burn in. I'd rather have the QN90C. Blooming isnt that bad in person when compared to these youtube videos and you wont notice it much without the side by side.

Hi KG, thanks for the video. I’m not sure what the Nits on both are, but they go back and forth as far as which one is brighter. Typically LED are but C3 has its moments.
Do you think Q90C and compete with QN90B??

If you have a living room with lots of windows or bright room, Mini LED qn90 is the winner, but if you have a controled dark room OLED is fantastic. I bought sony A80 77" Oled, big problem with my bright room, I couldn't see the image, so I returned it and bought SS qn85a 85", big difference.
