Bought my mother a new Subaru Forester year before last, I’ll keep driving my 1975 and 1992 Mercedes diesels (I live in the desert, so no rust).
Keep in mind I repair modern cars (luxury cars to be specific) for a living so not seeing some sort of malfunction light on in the dashboard has its advantages. Plus having the ability to leave your phone at home and not be tracked (virtually no road cameras here in Texas) is also nice. I lived in a former British colony that’s a bit of a nanny state and I don’t miss it.

Hi geoff just bought a Citroen c5 aircross 1.2 automatic hybrid not plug in e series 19 inch wheels adap cruise etc cost 26.800 6.500 off list only done 1000 miles so far but has averaged 55.7 m p g keep up the good work Derek Lloyd

Id have a Audi tt i call it a sensible buy it has 2 seats in the back for kids brand new about £50K im guessing the price . But id buy a second hand one for under £20k .i dont think i could go wrong

It's NOT just the running costs! It's the depreciation! The X5 has already lost all its value, so work out how much a week it isn't depreciating and that can be put in the tank or spent on repairs.

The only car I would buy would be a Honda civic. My 2014 civic is brilliant why would I want any other make or model.

Strange thing is, I don't want a new car they all look horrible, they're over complicated and the adverts are stupid. If I spend over £5k on a car I feel ripped off. Plus I want to be able to fix it myself, knowing the jobs done right and to my standards. So I'll stick to my oldies 'Bangernomics Rule!!!'
