In this video, I am going to be going over if the DJI FPV is worth it in 2023. Is this still the best drone for 2023? Are you better off going with another FPV drone? I am going to be talking about 3 major downfalls of the DJI FPV, and evaluating if it is still worth it in 2023. I love the DJI brand, and all the innovation that goes into their drones and other products, but these issues cannot go unaddressed. Stay tuned, and you can hear my thoughts!

This video was made before I had quality audio. Thank you all for giving it a watch anyway! 😂

I bought dji fpv drone couple of months ago and I'm a beginner newbie. I'm very happy with it I bought a gimbal protector and arm bracers and I had four crashes with him and one fell from few meters high. The only issue is a very little crack on plastic on the side on the cover. So I suggest everyone who had dji fpv drone to buy those arm bracers and gimbal protection because is worth every penny. For my needs I don't need nothing else maybe one day Mavic 3.

The DJI FPV is a great training tool to flying manual-mode because you've got the pause button. Once you've graduated, you'll prefer flying proper freestyle drones.

Honestly, the best way to learn is not dji fpv, that thing might replace some things, but if you broke the arm that's a huge problem, the best solution specifically for those beginners, familiarise yourself in simulators then buy a dji v2 goggles and a controller 2, then buy a 5 inch with dji o3, process and procedure are the same as getting a whole set of fpv, I will tell you, the 5 inch are much tougher than dji fpv, you can crash it multiple times and you'll just going to replace the props. If you're worried about configuration with normal fpv, get a 5 inch from iflight or geprc, those drones are plug and play with gps.

I have a mini 2 and I like it except for the reasons that you stated. I was thinking of a custom FPV drone but the DJI fpv is attractive.

I solved that stick error by tightening both of the screws for the left stick about a half turn. Completely solved the problem

Best DJI drone by far. Agile, fast and fun to master. Love it. Only problem : Flight 5 to 7 minutes . One gets tired of changing batts not to mention range anxiety. DJI should offer better batteries for this amazing aircraft immediately. I know I speak for tens of thousands of DJI FPV owners. Good video Spencer. Your nose ring very distracting 😞

I want to get a DJI fpv, but I have a mini 4 pro for my video shooting . The fpv would be more for fun for me . The mini 4 has the option for vertical shots also .

as someone who went through 3 DJI FPV frames, going to DIY was the best decision ever. It's wayy cheaper, much more resilient to crashes, and most repairs does not require soldering and replacing entire boards. Changing out an arm, motor, or propeller is the most common. There is also the option of sending it back to the manufacturer but do note, the turn around time can be weeks to months as they are much smaller than DJI.

I do chase vids. When I do fast rc planes and EDF jet I will always go over 50mph. I have the Avata for chases under 50 and close prox to people. The drone fly's very well at speeds over 50. If you not into to filming in the vertical (Which most aren't) then the shortcoming in that doesn't matter. I have a ton of vids and only a handful are shot that way.

I show and teach kids 5 and up to fly with this drone. (I will be swicthing to the Avata now that I have it though) I've never even come close to hitting anything. Now me, I've totaled it more than once. I had to send it in once and the other time I fixed it myself. There are places you can order the parts and even some of them preassembled. There are good taredown vids on every step of the way.

I own many many drones. Some old and the newest is my Nazgul 6f. But of them all I choose my FPV drone to done most of my drone vids. I love it. The biggest reason for me to change is the Co. DJI themselves.

Just my $0.02 LOL

Would shooting in 4:3 versus 16:9 give you more of that vertical angle shot you're talking about?
