Okay... I really don't understand what you're on about.

1. DJI is, in fact, going to discontinue this drone because DJI eventually discontinues all of their drones. Move over Nostradamus, they/them know their stuff.
2. You don't need the Goggles 2 to work with this drone because A. it came with goggles and B. it doesn't output enough resolution to warrant the "upgrade" and C. the upgraded features of the Goggles 2 won't work with it. Besides, you'd have to be some kind of idiot to buy the Goggles 2 to fly the DJI FPV Drone. There's no indication that DJI will have support for the Mini drones on the Goggles 2. Never say never but you said that crap like it was a reality. There really isn't sufficient FOV or Obstacle Avoidance on the Mini 3 Pro to use goggles. Again, never say never though.
3. NFZs aren't my favorite but unlike a lot of standard FPV drones, the DJI FPV Drone will fly thousands of feet high and miles away. Just like every other modern DJI drone... hence the Geo-Fencing. I always say, if you don't like NFZs, don't buy DJI but for God's sake, will people please stop buying their drones and prattling on about geo-fencing and how HORRIBLE it is to have to unlock your drone to fly by the airport. You could have purchased a dozen other drones without geofencing, have at it.
4. I agree that the camera is sub-par but I'm not sure it's all that bad. It's definitely not professional quality... Although, I hope no one is trying to use this consumer toy professionally. It's good enough for what it was designed for. It has one of the best FPV feeds period. Besides, who knew a 12mp 1/2.3 sensor with a 2.8 aperture wouldn't be good in low light? Shocking.
5. GPS... so you're blocking the GPS module with a Gopro, BTW the GoPro is actually interfering with the GPS, not a 2mm thick piece of plastic, and you're complaining as if it's DJI's fault? For the record, a couple mounts move the GoPro far enough away to mitigate this issue. I wonder if there was a clue in your statement that the problem only manifested when you were recording? Hmm...
6. You can buy braces and prop guards. You can break props with any drone if you crash it. You take the same risk with your GoPro with any FPV drone... huh? Do other FPV drones actually protect a Gopro somehow? Although, I agree that the drone isn't the toughest but it wasn't designed to be a bando basher or tight space Quad. It's a long range cruiser. It's a gateway FPV experience for guys that normally fly camera drones. It is what it is. If you fly it as it was designed to be flown, you'll be fine.
7. "This drone is 12 months old..." Say what? The DJI FPV Drone came out in March 2021... it's due to be discontinued. There's really not much to be updated, the hardware is just about at its limit. Psst... don't tell anyone but DJI did come out with another FPV drone. It's called the Avata. We'll just keep it our little secret.

been flying the dji fpv for over two years now and my main gripe with this drone initially was geofencing however after some hacking I'm free to mountain surf and fly further. The camera without an ND filter and in auto focus mode is crap. if you set the camera parameters to manual and put a good ND filter on it its pretty good. Also the startup sound and look of this drone is so cool not to mention the ability to press the brakes mid dive into the ground. I love this drone. just my opinion

Thinking about it, the DJI potato is powerful enough that it could potentially be used as a weapon. Its possible they would push to have it less available.

I’m such a casual, I bought this drone to get into fpv and I have found myself exclusively using the motion controller.
Thing is still fun to rip at 60mph with what feels like full control in one hand.

The so called “potato” is a great drone with lots of power! I still fly this drone more then my Avata…… oh and mine has no height or takeoff limits either….. its the perfect drone for me!

The GPS issue has nothing to do with the drone itself. If it happens only when the GoPro is recording, the GoPro emits interference in the L-Band jamming the GPS receiver. This is a common issue in automotive electronics. But manufacturers of electronics for the domestic market do not need to meet tight EMC limits, especially not at high frequencies as the 1.6 GHz for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo etc.. Obviously, the processing inside the GoPro while recording should not be near to any GNSS antennas. Shame.

For 40 euros you can install the drone-hacks firmware which will disable nfz and altitude limits. I flew regular FPV drones before I got the DJI FPV used for a good deal. I like it for less aggressive flying to wind down after a session and exploring at a distance over sketchy terrain. Betaflight gps rescue works pretty well, but I have even more confidence in DJI RTH. 8/10 would buy again used. So many camera drone pilots bought them and decided it wasn't their thing after a few flights or crashed them and are selling the newly refreshed replacement.

I love, LOVE, this drone. I use it to patrol avocado plantations. Does the job well. It´s the battery endurance that ruins the experience. 7 minutes flight time on all 6 batts I own. DJI should sell us a better batt and keep this wonderful aircraft in their flight line.

The dji cam looked natural and real, the GoPro looked like it had a filter on... I'm leaning toward natural honestly.

As with you, there is a special place for me as well because this got me all in with FPV. I might not have stuck with it if I started with a traditional 5” drone. This one is what originally got me addicted to flying. The training wheels is amazing for beginners like the brake button and return to home. I also like the camera control where you can pitch the camera down so I still use it for scouting. But now that I’m flying full acro with traditional FPV drones, your right, this flys like a potato. But it sure sounds mean when it is powered on, lol.

Definitely agree. A regular 5 inch would walk away from most crashes whereas the dji fpv can break from even light crashes.

I had one and not being able to use the gyro data to stabilize was a dealbraker. But as a long range drone it's quite good. Battery lasts forever and has amazing range.. BUT.. camera is potato and 1 axis gimbal is not up to the standard. Can't wait for them to release a new version of it :)

For those that don’t own a drone yet, please be aware that the geofencing feature is there to protect you and other aircrafts and it will most likely spare you a lot of money if it saves you from being caught flying illegally. Just know your local flying laws to be safe.

Just started flying mine again and it's enjoyable. There's a cinelike mode and other youtube videos that show how to improve image. Don't believe there's raw, so that can be a deal breaker, if you're thinking about getting one.

Traditional FPV drones don't hover by themselves, don't return to home in case of no rc/video signal, which means they crash. DJI returns!

the dji fpv is even shipped with the goggles 2 in the explorer combo....

I've had the DJI FPV for 2 years now and it's a great drone. Some tend to give it bad feed back and I feel it's mostly cause people try to make it something it's not. To me it's like a Mavic with FPV capabilities. But just because it has FPV capabilities allowing it to freestyle, that doesn't mean it should be used as such. It's like if you can play basketball, that doesn't make you NBA material. I get the most enjoyment out of my FPV just cruising and doing cinematics, tossing in some aerial manuvers. All of the featues that people call training wheels are just a plus honestly.

I really wanted to own this drone. What kept me from it was the fact that if you crashed it, it will sooner than later be catastrophic. Looks like an amazing drone to fly otherwise.

All drones should come with stability mode. The lack of is what’s holding this hobby back in my opinion. DJI FPV is a very good drone to start off with. So what if it does not do everything. You can become a very good flyer without all the frustration that comes with a traditional.
