The Angels Dread was painted by me. Thanks to the Squidmar team for the review. For those wondering, the decals are from the ForgeWorld Heresy sheet. I wish I could take credit for the idea but I stole it from Lil Legend Studio!

Really glad that you liked the Nurgle Sorcerer I've painted and to be reviewed in your video. Many thanks!

the paintjob on the eldar wraithfighter looks like its inspired by artist HopeRiver's Valley, she made a tutorial to do this starscape on eldar jetbikes over a decade ago and her work is increadable.

I've sold something to WarDaddy Miniatures. It seems their business model is to buy already painted/used stuff and then re-sell it as "pro painted" or "well painted" etc. That's how they have such a variety of stuff on their website. I don't know if they touch stuff up before re-selling it but it's definitely an interesting business model.

Would be nice if the artists were credited so people could support them if they wanted to.

Was $84 the total price of the Hemlock wraithfighter? Or the extra for the paintjob? If it is total, that's $6 under MSRP. Which would be a pretty good deal.

You were a little harsh on the eldar flyer. You paid $85 for it, the model is $90 retail...

The first one killed me. It’s so much better than anything I’ve painted.
Me: “Oh that’s so good!”
Squidmar: “This ain’t pro.”

Now strip the ugly ones and make a Video "We repainted ugly Ebay models...." or something....

How to be a professional aritst:
Step 1: Make art.
Step 2: Sell the art that you made.
Congrats, you are now a professional artist.

void bomber wasn’t fair if it has been well assembled, mold lines removed, smooth prime job etc. and close to shop price - then it’s not a scam. ppl can just put it on the tabletop right from the box or continue painting from there - <10 bucks for all the building effort is legit. Think for the Price nobody can expect a pro paintjob albeit it should also not be sold as pro painted. Maybe „pre-painted“ would have nailed it, but again, no scam for that price.

Professional
noun
1. a person engaged or qualified in a profession."professionals such as lawyers and surveyors"
2. a person engaged in a specified activity, especially a sport, as a main paid occupation rather than as a pastime. "his first season as a professional"
Sooo I guess if painting is their main occupation then they're professionals. Doesn't matter if its good or not.

I think you guys were a lot harder on the Eldar fighter than you needed to be. That's a $90 mini from GW's webstore which means the lowest price someone could buy it from a store for is $72 which means you potentially only spent $12 on the assembly and paint job on it. Not to say it's a good paint job or should be called "pro painted, " but it's also not a scam at all

The comparison between GW pricing of the mini and EBay was good at the start, but the consistency stoped at the Hemlock Wraithfighter. The miniature was poorly / non existent for professionals painting. However you also payed less then GW listing price. It looked more like a garage sale rescue. You both could take one and try to rescue it in your next video?

So most of these honestly do look good and worth the price. Especially if you ignore the “pro” claim. The fifth one is just **underpriced** by a lot!

That pink'ish-purple elven hair looked really cool. Nice contrast with the rest of the model and really pops.

I’ve been painting some minis and selling them as “pro painted” on ebay. They’re probably about the same quality as the $45 mini you guys bought.

I sell single minis for about $50-$60 a piece, which seems like a lot but it’s usually about $7 for the mini, $10 for shipping, $1 for packaging. Then ebay takes 15%. So on a $50 mini I’m making $25, not including paints and basing materials.

If I spend 3 hours on a paint job, plus putting it up on ebay and driving it to the post office, I’m looking at less than $10 per hour.

It’s fun to do, and selling stuff on ebay us a fun part of the hobby for me. But sometimes tagging things as “pro painted” is almost necessary even if you’re not quite there yet if you want to make anything over $5 an hour.

speaking from my own "Pro Painter selling on Ebay" experience, you're kinda beholden to the algorithm in terms of what you title your mini, and it just makes sense to include [Pro Painted] as an easily and often searched term, and also there's hardly anybody really looking for a statement piece mini at an appropriate price, most everybody is just looking for a super cheap deal... and of course nobody ever takes the price of the mini itself into account. on the plus side, it's much more feasible than Etsy, since there's little to no fees for small sellers.
