I really love painting with acrylics which i am comfortable with and tbh they are the best paints. I started watching your channel and learned so much about watercolour and bought a set of camel watercolour tubes but still the texture and mixing i get in acrylic is unmatchable for me

Hi! I’m a digital artist that used to really hate traditional art because my art teachers didn’t believe my art done on photoshop was “real” art. It made me dislike traditional art because to my teachers and professors, it was valued over my digital art.. I’ve overcome the barrier recently and started water coloring a ton for myself— it’s really fun!! Thanks for showing us that we should be confident in our art and not to worry about others :)

The texture is what I love. I like that feeling of wanting to touch a piece of art. I covered my acrylic painting with a water colour layer which took away the shine and added a cool depth.

Acrylics really don't have to be glossy, acrylic mediums come in all kinds of different finishes. Matte, satin or glossy (and everything in between!)

What I love most about water color is how much the paint seems to have a mind of its own. They're not my go to, but I've noticed that whenever I find myself in a rut of trying to make something perfect or be totally in control of my art, breaking out the water color and letting them do their thing is the perfect way to get back to a place where I can let my art breathe!

Its crazy to hear someone say watercolors are actually easier to work with than acrylics, which I've heard the opposite my entire life from artist and art teachers alike! Took me years to get my first watercolor palette out of fear and now i can't stop using it! They really are so versatile and fun.

I've never really felt comfortable with watercolor or couldn't really get the hang of it mainly because ive started with acrylic and found it really easy for the purpose I was doing but ever since I've started watching your videos it's wanted me to really really try over and over again everyday try to just paint soemthing eith gouache or watercolor because you make such beautiful art and all your videos with tips and just the ones where you show your art are always really helpful and inspiring so thank you for that💗💗

As someone who frequently painted with acrylic, it’s not truly waterproof until you wait for it to dry. I often mixed my acrylics with water before application so I can have layered acrylics. It makes them very watercolor-esque, except watered down acrylics dry faster, so you can continuously make layers in a shorter amount of time. Unless you’re using very thick applications of acrylic, acrylic can actually be quite matte.

As someone who started out painting with water colors, acrylic is actually a lot easier to learn. I recommend acrylic or acryla-gouache when starting out but that's just me.
