We DID NOT expect this in DELHI 🇮🇳 | Hauz Khas Village
It's easy to think of India's capital New Delhi as a massive concrete jungle. Most foreigners impressions of the city is that it's chaotic and dirty. Plenty of those areas do exist in Delhi but there's also plenty of nice, clean and peaceful areas.
Haus Khas Social was a complete culture shock. It was almost the opposite what we had been experiencing the first few days in India. Modern... neon... cocktails... and hip hop!
Hauz Khas is famous for it's Momos and quirky hipster nightlife...

We are Eleise and Lawrence & Nyh – A young family from the south of England. Like many people the pandemic gave us a shake up! While watching hours of Mark Weins in Thailand – We had our “Ah ha” Moment. We decided we wanted to travel.
Enjoying working for ourselves, we didn’t want to give up our business and decided it was entirely possible for us to do both. So we set about making it our lifestyle to work in the UK for a month, and then travel for a month – month on, month off…. until our little boy Nyh goes to school! We want to inspire people that you don’t have to up-sticks, sell all your belongings and leave behind family to be able to see the world.

Our Philosophy. Work, Travel, Repeat.

You will notice that they will not kiss the kid directly on the face, unless it is a family kid. It is a sign of blessings.

It's like an indirect kiss on the cheeks, to express love and how cute the baby is!

It’s a clean way of giving the beloved child a kiss and express their love and affection towards them.

It's just that they want to show affection and blessings to the kid yet don't want him to make uncomfortable by kissing directly on the cheeks. It's a cute gesture and makes the child feel loved and cared for in their presence

It’s the harmless / hygienic way of a kiss. A virtual kiss for lack of better word. 😎

It's just unconditional love for the kid. It's a way of saying God bless him/her. Kids in india grows up not only with his parents but are raised by the entire neighborhood, uncle's, aunties so they are not scared to walk up to a stranger and play with their kids.

They want to kiss your child's cheek since they find him cute but they don't want to overstep their boundaries. Similar to a flying kiss

It’s a sign of affection which many parents lack. Kids always remember when they grow up that they were little loved.

It’s just expression of love. As they can’t directly kiss the baby on cheeks (which is norm at home), they are showing affection by touching the cheeks and kissing that hand.

In India, people would love to hold the baby and pamper them, no matter who they are. ❤
