A message of love, loyalty and ultimately an expression of elation finding that one girl to spend your life with, that one good girl.

I made the draft music for "Good Girl" in 2012, it started as just an idea with no structure to it. It evolved and I decided to bring my friends into it, Dave Slick & Sinnikal One. It went through several changes which led to this final version along with the music video.

Why this long to release? Life happened
Office work was piling up, relationships happened, real life drama, the bills, yeah life happened and I got lost for a minute.

For this track, I'm letting my homies get on the verses and that leaves me doing the chorus and bridge. Went to different genres to find the right mix of emotions that I wanted to portray in the song, finally went to 90s Pop Disco Funk-ish vibe that I think and feel is the right mix to represent that innocence and elation of finding that one good girl to spend forever with.

I shot and collected the reactions in 2018 and other videos provided by friends shot on their mobile devices, it was overwhelming to receive such positive feedback from them and their willingness to be a part of this project. My direction was simple, put this (headphones) listen and react naturally, and oh boy they did and the genuine reaction really showed in the final music video.

Spent hours going back and forth YouTube tutorial videos to better understand the technical aspects of music making and to better convey a story that is easy to understand and enjoyable to listen.

2 reasons why the video is a 90s inspired theme, firstly the music itself is a retro inspired track but too old in the disco era so late 80s to 90s was the sweet spot. Secondly the various videos that I've received varies in formats and quality so to make it less obvious I decided to give it a creative direction and treatment of 90s sitcom vhs kind of vibe.
