In this VR game, you explore a long-abandoned haunted theme park in the swamps of Florida that seems an awful lot like Disney World.
Almost all of the major attractions in The Magic Kingdom are represented here in the form of dark and twisted parodies.
I absolutely love this concept, but this game does have some big problems. First though, let’s start with what’s good.
It’s a blast to experience haunted reimaginings of real-life Disney attractions. If you’re a fan of Disney World, you will love all the references and inside jokes.
It blends humor, horror, and fandom in a really clever way. But, in my opinion, this game is also super janky.
You fight animatronic mascots, but because there’s very little visual feedback, and your weapons pass straight through the enemies when you attack, it’s extremely unsatisfying and chaotic.
You’re required to play mini-golf to unlock new areas, but it is almost impossible to control the direction of the ball because it has no sense of weight.
Also, this is one of the very few VR games that has ever made me feel motion sick. And yet, despite its problems, I actually really liked this game. It’s called HappyFunland and if you’re a fan of both theme parks and horror games, this may be just the game for you!
