This video gives a comprehensive description of lipoproteins and their biological importance. A lipoprotein is a biochemical assembly whose primary purpose is to transport hydrophobic lipid (also known as fat) molecules in water, as in blood plasma or other extracellular fluids. Examples of lipoproteins include plasma lipoprotein particles (HDL, LDL, IDL, VLDL and chylomicrons). Subgroups of these plasma particles are primary drivers or modulators of atherosclerosis.

This was so clear. I wanted to cry during my biochem lecture. Usually, my professor is quite good but somewhow, this one was ever so confusing. I like that you went at the right pace and showed the charts with compositions of each lipoprotein.

As a non-medical person, I find this to be very helpful in understanding more how my body works. Thank you.

Well done,
Almost 16 min saved me to understand better than the lecture of my professor which was 2 hour!

The one million dollar question is: why does the LDL dump their load beside the highway. That IS NOT because there is to much LDL. That is because the LDL is inflamed by sugar!! Glycation.

One of the best videos talking about body Lipids. I would suggest adding another one for the pathology for example with the LDLR.

To understand this type cellular biochemistry involving so many complex reactions one should have good knowledge of structure & role of atoms, molecular formation, valency, Bond formations, quark theories, protein, fat,CHO, amino acid, nucleic acid, physiology, anatomy and many others also. These are so much astonishing., ., .... so many yet to be known & discovered.we the layman know nothing but your vivid & simply described video made us know something. Thanks a lot.

Video is very simple and easy to understand. Concepts are clear and presented in a very simple manner. Thats very important because sometimes teachers know their topic but not able to present it. So students are confused. Thanks once again

I had to stop every few minutes to take notes and process what you were saying, but this video is gold. 1 hour ago I didn't understand a thing of the lipoprotein stuff before this video.
Thank you a lot!

Excellent description, providing just enough detail to be thorough without getting bogged down in details that obscure the overall picture.

This video literally saved my day "my whole module actually"

That was very useful, thanks. One thing that it is not very clear there is that chylomicrons don't go from enterocytes to the bloodstream (as the illustration seems to suggest), but from the enterocytes into the lymphatic system. Then chylomicrons in the lymphatic eventually reach systemic circulation through the thoracic duct.
