So basically,
Rin (the one in the red and also the oldest) and Mio (one in blue and was clearly, the youngest) Were two sisters whom lived in a small town.
They had no food, so starved themselves.
One day, Mio came home filled with joy.
Rin questioned why she was so joyful, but Mio never said why.
A few days later, Rin came to the conclusion that Mio was eating without her.
Because of this, she was filled with envy (Envy is the main antagonist we will be dealing with for book II.), and ate her sister.
Then she noticed there was a small pocket filled with money.
She then realized that Mio was actually saving up money for them which was the reason why she was so happy.
Rin felt instant regret and guilt which lead to a mouth growing on the back of her head.
The mouth on the back of her head was the mouth of Mio, who would constantly wail for food.
If Rin couldn't bring her food, Rin will scream out in pain.


Long story short, Rin and Mio were two sisters who lived and a small down and starved themselves due to having no food.
One day Mio came home with a smile but wouldn't tell Rin why, which led to Rin thinking she was eating without, to which she ate Mio. Just to realize that Mio was saving up so that they can eat. Because of that Rin felt guilty, and the mouth of Mio grew on the back of her head, which would constantly wail for food, and if she didn't get any, Rin would scream in pain.

You can hear Rin scream in pain when you get jumpscared (killed) by her.

If anyone is curious what the girl said on the first half of the song, it's "Yumemitai" (夢見たい) which translates to "I want to dream".

Theory: This is pretty obvious, but Enzukai's power is to turn anyone overly jealous of something or someone into a monster, and she turns them into a resemblence of the thing they are jealous of. For example, Rin was jealous of Mio for accusing her of eating happily without her. What if the other monsters were once living people, who were turned monsters BECAUSE of their jealousy? Tenome = Jealous of not being able to see, Nure-onna = Jealous of not being able to be pretty, etc.

This game has literally changed my life (sorta). I would hate playing horror games, but the Mimic changed that and it helped me connect with those I know even more. Thank you so much MUCDICH, Cactus, Karma and everyone else who worked on this game.

I'm usually scared and reluctant to play any type of horror game due to my phasmophobia, but The Mimic is the first ever horror game I actually enjoyed playing!

Can't wait to see what Book 2 has in store.

Woah, the Mimic has changed a lot. From its simple design at 2021 of January to more complex and realistic at 2022 of March. Thanks to the developers and everyone who helped MUCDICH for making this game.

You really took my interest. The Mimic is my first-ever fav horror game and I'm honestly surprised that I would even play a horror game, let alone enjoy it. So thank you so much Mucdich, Cactus, Karma, and Sythivo! You really did a great job on this! You brought me happiness and something fun to look to during the boring and dull times of my life in 2021 and all the way up until now, and I can't wait to see what comes next for The Mimic :)

Wow, I can’t believe how far this game has come. It feels like chapter 1 came out just yesterday. Mimic has really come a long way, huge thanks to Mucdich and the Mimic team for creating such a thrilling horror game!

Mio and Rin’s backstory is very well made and beautiful. I enjoyed seeing the story scene in the game. I’m currently playing Book II, Part 1 with my best friend and I’m already enjoying it! You’ve DEFINITELY improved. Keep the amazing work up!

Summary:
Rin and Moi are two orphan sisters, living in poverty. Moi came home one day happy, but never told Rin why. Rin thought Moi has been eating well without her, so Jealousy aka Enzukai overtook her, making her kill Moi and eating her own sister. Turns out, Moi is trying to save money for both of them, and her soul resides in Rin's head now, creating a second mouth

Played through with my girlfriend not too long ago, had a hiccup here and there, but my god this was a different experience compared to Book Control, this is amazing already and my god it's terrifying as Hell, I'm legitimately scared to even bother with Nightmare mode. She showed this game to me last year when Chapter 4 came out, my god I always loved Japanese urban legends and ghost stories and seeing different takes on different characters and "Monsters", this is really quite the experience. I can't wait to see the future of The Mimic, thank you Mucdich for giving me another reason to bond with my gf, thank you for giving me quite an amazing heart pounding horror experience. This is seriously more than amazing. I can't wait til Chapter 2 and definitely see where this story goes.
