Finding Carter is a family drama that centers on Carter, a teenage girl who thinks she has the perfect life until one night, after a police bust at a high school party, she is told that the woman who she believes to be her biological mother actually abducted her as a toddler.

I find Max's problem quite relatable, my dad was highly abusive towards my mum and I. Every time I tried to leave he threatened to kill my mum, and every time we were in the car he'd try to crash it so it would look like and accident. I've even seen him physically abuse her and I couldn't do anything I couldn't even move cause I was so scared. But when I turned 16 I had enough and I gave my mum and ultimatum it was either she leaves with me or I leave and she doesn't see me again. Thankfully the following day she told him to leave, and he did. He didn't even say goodbye to me, and when I got my 18th birthday card from him (I hadn't seen him in about 2 years) it said 'To Brooke Happy 18th, love Dad'.

I now have a step dad who treats my mum and I with the up most respect, he's been really patient and kind and if it wasn't for him I would've dropped out of school. So my life is so much better now.
