Putin: Russia will respond if NATO 'pose a threat to us'. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has again assured that he has 'no problem' with neighbours Finland and Sweden joining NATO, while at the same time decrying the alliance's 'imperial ambitions' and bid to assert 'supremacy'. His remarks come as NATO formally invited Finland and Sweden to join the alliance. But Putin says Russia will respond if NATO sets up infrastructure in Finland and Sweden along other countries.

What will Russia do put soldiers that it doesn't have on its new border with Finland or put nuclear weapons which are already present in Kalingrad (think this is spelt wrong but you get the idea). Russia doesn't really have anything it can do in response. Even if it were as strong as we thought it was pre Ukraine war it doesn't really have any options. It likes to talk about hypersonic missiles but these don't really make big changes on your strike ability other than it can get their abit faster. Also their hypersonics are almost all just adapted from previous models of standard missiles. As usual just a lot of hot air and hollow words from Russia
