Maybe it's just me, but I had a problem with a uGreen hub on the Firestick. It's old but works fine on my Shield and my Windows server. . I kept losing connection to my usb stick. I swapped and all is good. I have two Atolls hubs from Amazon, one 7 port and a 4 port. These provide a good amount of powér, are reliable and inexpensive. The 4 port Atolls works great on the Firestick. .

Adding an extra memory device such as a memory stick or SSD is relatively easy as you pointed out on a Firestick 4K Max, however on a standard Firestick 4K it’s a lot more long winded and not at all straight forward. You can’t just plug it in and expect it to work. Have you thought about doing a video that will show the method used to add extra storage to a standard 4K Firestick?

I have the firestick 4k and I tried what you did in the beginning with holding down the two buttons, but mine just pulled up the same screen you get when holding down the home button alone for 5seconds

Hi! Question.. I have the FireStick 4k. Plugged into a receiver that's connected to my speakers and TV. Can I simultaneously play audio from a connected bluetooth speaker (Bose mini) and through my HDMI connection to the receiver?

The goal would be to have the speaker in another room close by and listen to the same music coming out of my main setup.

I look forward to Spotify and devices to connect to multiple speakers for a better "enjoy your music in every room" idea haha

I’ve never heard USB sticks/thumb drives referred to as “USB Keys” or “Jump Drives” 😂 USB key sounds like those physical USB software license keys you plug in to run purchased software.

Brian, you really put a lot of effort into this useful and comprehensive video. I was hoping some of it would work with my two Insigia Fre TVs, but it's not to be. Nevertheless it's a great reference. BTW, I love the FireTV platform. Yep, I also have a Roku and Chromecast on each TV and also have an Nvidia Shield TV, but the FireTV is my default platform.

Great hacks! The FireTV mobile app let's you type in passwords with the phone's keyboard, which might be easier than plugging in a computer keyboard.

Can someone tell me what is so great about firestick?
I've been using the media players from ebay that cost less than $30 (T95 4k, MXQ Pro 4k, and several others). They come with just about every app on firestick. They come with 2 or 3 usb ports. They come with WiFi, Bluetooth and Miracast to cast from your cellphone. They run Kodi media player software. All these external things you are purchasing for firestick are already inside the media player boxes (microSD card reader, Ethernet plug, hdmi 2.0, You can download apps from Googleplay).
So, the question again: Why is firestick still a thing? What does it do that Media player boxes from eBay don't? I can connect 2 harddrives and a Bluetooth full keyboard / mouse combo and play movies from my harddrives (I haven't tried any over 2gb yet) on a media player box that I just plugged into the hdmi port on my HDTV. Or I can stream just about anything as soon as I log into my WiFi (which I have never had streaming problems from). I just don't understand. Make me understand why people would choose expensive firesticks that have limited capabilities over Media player boxes. What am I missing out on by not having a firestick? You talk about losing connections with the WiFi on firestick. Do Media player boxes have a larger WiFi internal antenna because I don't lose streaming connections like you say you do with the firesticks. So, what am I missing out on using my sub $30 media player boxes over firestick? I really want to know.
