There is, quite literally, no actor who could have played that role so well… he made an entire generation or two of young children hate him. Then he went and took those children’s hearts, that so hated him, and showed them with exquisite accuracy, what true heartbreak looks, and feels like.

When I was a kid watching the first Harry Potter movie I had such disdain for snaps and his attitude towards Harry. It was a very humbling experience to learn that Snape exclusively knew and was actively protecting Harry the entire time from a truth he was not ready for. In each scene where snape was harassing Harry you look back and connect the dots and see His attitude towards Harry was out of grave concern and he knew what they were up to and he actually had the best intentions to see him succeed and prepare him not just to be a great wizard but specifically to face the Dark Lord. His death was truly moving and humbling experience.

The most missed detail people don't realise is that Snape was just given an absolute BOMBSHELL when he learned the truth and even though he was in bits, he was still able to cast a perfect Patronus Charm, which can only be achieved by thinking of the most beautiful and happy moments in your life. Snape's Patronus is in the form of a stag that represents Lily because that's the same one she used.... 😢😣 Dude was shattered internally and yet perfectly whispered the protection spell on Harry. Man.... That always messed me up

Dumbledore was so manipulative and ruthless and you won't even realise until snape's memories are revealed. There are signs and hints from the very first book, but we are so enchanted by the flow of the story that only by the end we realise our mistake of blind faith

In Retrospect, it must have been such a crazy feeling to stare into Harry’s eyes, all those years. Snape must have felt such anger, sadness, grief, confusion, resentment, relief, shame and much more.

Growing up, I always thought snape was “the bad guy” but by the end, you realize he’s the protagonist of his own very tragic story. Rest in peace, to the fictional character and the real actor, Alan rickman, who truly gave a performance of a lifetime with this role 💙

Not because he still loved her…




But because still in all that time Serverus love for her never changed…..it was just as pure and as strong and beautiful as the day he met her

I can't believe I grew up with this franchise, same age as the actor and knowing how I lived in the days of golden cinema was the best, lord of the rings, star wars prequel trilogy, Harry Potter, pre end game marvel, our childhood was so damn perfect, I wanna go back, but at least I can take it with me
