In their secluded farmhouse, a mother, formerly a surgeon in Portugal, teaches her daughter, Francisca, to understand anatomy and be unfazed by death. One afternoon, a mysterious visitor horrifyingly shatters the idyll of Francisca’s family life, deeply traumatizing the young girl, but also awakening some unique curiosities. Though she clings to her increasingly reticent father, Francisca’s loneliness and scarred nature converge years later when her longing to connect with the world around her takes on a distinctly dark form.

For the people who check trailers here before watching….. I recommend watching this film 100%. Very eerie and real tone to it. The isolated country environment gives off a sense of I’m not safe and I am alone. There are some extreme things that are shown. The movie is more of a slow burn, the main actress does a good job keeping the movie interesting and maintain a creepy vibe to the audience. Watch this as soon as possible 👍🏽

I found this to be an amazing movie!!! I totally recommend it, although it might not be for everyone's eyes. It's a sick yet beautiful movie, all filmed in black and white, which really adds to the whole atmosphere. It depicts loneliness in a very mature and adult view. This is the ultimate horror film!

I had to see this and paid $7 to watch it. I wasn't frightened. I was and remain disturbed by the movie. The images. The thoughts that follow as any human would think what it would be like to be tortured for years in this way. Reminds me of Girl in the Box. I woke up thinking about. I am still thinking about it. I understand it and that's scary because there are a lot of questions I felt were answered. You fill in the blanks and it makes insanity. Insanity can make some sense, This is a movie which allows the viewer to see what is happening without a lot of blood and gore and sound. It's quiet. Lonely. Dark. Dreadful. I'll keep watching parts of it over and over to get more information. It's going to get at you one way or another. You will feel something inside you stir. This is a movie you want to talk about to others who have seen it. It forces a response. And it won't hit you mildly although the movie is mild. So keep that in mind when you put it on. And do not whatever you do... Go into the barn.

Kudos to everyone involved with crafting this TRUE HORROR FILM. It is equal parts tragic, elegeant, and horrifying. All of the producers of horror need to look at this team to see what it is that they all lack. One of the best visceral, trancendant, and transgressive experiences I have had watching a film in fifteen or twenty years. See it...

The Eyes of My Mother is a film that really pay off on many levels. The cinematic art film one hand. Yet A slasher picture with no attempts at irony. Hauntingly hypnotic. The film is very delicate and precise in it psychotic violence as to be difficult to analyze or describe. I would go so far to say

I fucking loved it tbh, thought it was extremely disturbing and did a good job of creating a really eerie/unconformable vibe throughout. I didn't even really feel like it was much of a slow burn tbh, it had me right from the beginning.
