Green MP defends 'legitimate' disruption of M25 motorway by climate protesters

Green Party MP Caroline Lucas has defended what she described as "legitimate" disruption of the M25 motorway by climate protesters.

She told Trevor Phillips: "As long as it is non-violent then I think we need to understand why protesters have taken this extreme action."

Ms Lucas also says climate efforts in the UK are being "entirely undermined by government action at home".

Say that to the woman who had a stroke and was stuck on the M25 for six hours and is no permanently paralyzed on her left side because she didn't get to hospital in the magic 90 minutes or the women air lifted because of the accident caused by the middle class freaks or the people unable to earn a days wage to feed and house there families

Then she should be arrested and suspended from Parliament for inciting criminal acts. Doesn’t she know it’s illegal to trespass on a motorway including slips roads. She is also encouraging these subversives to put lives in danger, causing accidents and stopping emergency vehicles getting anywhere

Police should not intervene with traffic blockers. They must be handled in true democratic way by the stuck motorists and lorry drivers.
