I have a quick question, you mention in this video and I believe several others as well that you would go into linear algebra when complex numbers are allowed. Why didnt you multiply by pi over 2, then x^2=-1?

if it was 3 dimensions (x, y, z) and the rotation around say z axis, wouldn't z become the eigenvector ?
