Flagship First Class JFK to LAX in American Airlines A321

Flagship First is the only True First Class in the United States, at least according to American Airlines. But watch this video to decide for yourself!

In this video, you’ll see what it’s like in Flagship First on one of American Airlines’ most Premium Routes onboard an American Airlines A321.

Flagship First is American Airlines’ most luxurious of First Class experiences and you’ll see it all, from the current “version” of a Flagship First Lounge, the Flagship First food, Flagship First seat, and even the Flagship First service.

In the current reality of travel, premium experiences are tough to find, but American Airlines has retained a surprising level of luxury in Flagship First between JFK and LA, San Francisco, and (777-300 flights) Miami.

The American Airlines A321T is a special airplane with an interior especially designed for these premium routes. In this video, we’ll walk through the entire cabin to see the 36 Main Cabin seats, the 36 Main Cabin Extra seats, the 20 lay-flat Business Class Seats, and the 10 Flagship First suites.

But, as always, let me know what you think of Flagship First.

That weird adapter is actually either a LEMO or an XLR headset jack, which is used to power ANR/Bluetooth headsets on commercial aircraft. Not a common plug for use by the general public, and still very new to the aviation world, but it is becoming our preferred plug as it allows us to wear ANR headsets without carrying batteries! Hope you find this useful - thank you for your wonderful videos!

FYI, that amenity kit is the old intl premium economy kit, they are only clearing the old stock, the new Shinola kit is different

Great video, nice to see a 3 class configured aircraft flying domestically - those days are long gone here in Oz. But the big news of the moment is you reaching 250k subs - massive congratulations mate! Well done and it's onwards and upwards to that gold play button!

Why is my favorite part of these videos is seeing the meals....😋

I've been on that flight... but way in the back. It's insane how such a small plane offers four classes of service. The economy cabin was hilariously small, and even pre-covid they did not offer so much as a bag of pretzels

Sad to see pre COVID service still hasn’t returned. I’ve flown this service to and from SFO many times over. You should’ve received warm nuts with a choice of drink, then an appetizer and salad, followed by another drink service, then your entree and fresh bread basket, another drink service, then dessert and or cheese plate, followed by coffee/espresso service and after dinner drinks. The snack basket is then placed upfront. Mid flight you should’ve received an offering from the basket and a warm cookie. Prior to landing sparkling water and citrus garnish.
Looks like you received an express version of service. Usually a full tray like that was served on red eye flights.

As an Australian, it's unusual to have many 'long' haul domestic flights, with the East Coast to Perth being the only option (Which i'm yet to do). I flew the business class from LAX to JFK a few weeks ago and was really pleased with it. I'm flying First tomorrow from JFK to SFO and am looking forward to seeing what it's like. I was told February 1st was the day the service was to change back to some normality, so fingers crossed. Love your vids!

The highlight of every vid is expecting Jeb to be talking about his qc20s… lol

6:29 I don’t think it’s selfish at all when you consider the cost of a first class ticket. You pay for this luxury. I use to feel guilty when I would fly first or business. Then it hit me. I paid my money for this service.

This is the first time I have ever heard the words “JFK” and “treat” in the same sentence.

As a flight attendant for AA, this was my absolute favorite to work…well, this and 1st on 777 transatlantic.

As someone who just flew First Class on Delta this is a car superior first class experience than what I just had.

Love your videos. It’s a great way of experiencing traveling without traveling. So happy you are flying again! Stay safe!

Another excellent video Jeb. Thank you for the way you construct your trip reports....they are logical, focused, meaningful and useful for us non-regular flyers to consider. Also, the fact that you show clips of the food selection rather than showing you shoveling food down your gob (mouth) is very classy. :-)

I’m a retired AA captain - AA does a good job and thus is a nice video on that - AA also does /did nice job on long haul biz/first to Asia, Australia - they are recovering and reinstating these routes

I miss the first class cabin on the L1011 back in the late 90s. Great memories flying nonstop Atlanta to Hawaii 🙂

My daughter and I have done this flight more than a few times. By far our best was a red eye LAX to JFK, spending the whole day in NYC and hoping on the overnight JFK to SFO, sleeping the whole way, showering in the minute suite and enjoying San Fran before returning home. Spending no money on food or hotels! Being a non-rev has its perks!!

Yes, the food is the same in first and Business class. You receive 2 extra plates in first makes it seem more substantial (to some).
