Using Data Merge in Adobe InDesign - auto fill text fields and pages

This is a quick tutorial that explains how to use Data Merge in Adobe InDesign; I'm using Creative Suite CS5.5 but this should work in most other versions of InDesign including CC.

This could be used to automatically fill in business cards; certificates; invitations; mail merge etc. anything you could think up.

I have used Microsoft Excel to create the data, but you could use a simple text editor, just use a comma to separate each value.

Doesn't need to be a blank text box—can be inserted into text like, 'Dear <<tag>>, you are invited to...'
