Hello and welcome to my channel. This DIY channel is dedicated to the Overlanding Build of my 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. I hope you follow me through the entire build experience and I hope that somewhere along the way, we can learn from each other. Please be a Tacoma-buddy and hit the like, subscribe and notification bell buttons, cheers!

PURPOSE OF THIS VIDEO:
In this video, I'll be showing you how to replace a rocker switch and install an OEM-style switch for my Nilight Ditch Lights. I will be comparing switches purchased from Artemis Overland Hardware (CaliRaised LED switch) and one from Amazon (no-name brand). As it turns out, the Amazon switch did not work for me even after following the installation instructions and trying out different wiring configurations. I will have to conclude that this switch from Amazon appears to be a defective switch or just a lemon. Because of this, I wouldn't recommend it. The CaliRaised switch is only a couple of bucks more so go for the more reputable unit. This video also shows hot to relocate the AC switch to the center panel.

Thank you! I've been wondering how to wire up the switch I just got. It's working in my truck now.

I would take a test meter and probe the switch before tossing it.. I think it was probably good..unless you did really get a reject. Many have used these with good luck . Wiring directions usually poor because of translation to english. A lot of off brand items suffer from that.

Did you disconnect light from battery when cutting the wires and replacing the switch? Or was everything still connected when you were replacing the switch?

So genuine question since I'm not very electric savvy. I'm going to be replacing my Cali ditch lights for some better morimoto ones; but I still want to keep my Cali raised ditch light switch. Is it just trial and error testing to see which wire goes to what? Or are wires generally color coded for what goes to what? I'm only asking this here because I've asked in so many different forums and don't really know anyone irl who is knowledgeable about this sort of stuff. Also can't really find any info about it through my searching for an answer online. I don't know if I'm not describing it right or what but if ya do know I'd be very appreciative of a response. If I don't get a answer though and I brute force my way through it I'll reply back with what I came up with for if anyone has a problem like I do in the future. Hope everyone's having good trail days!

How do you get the light on the switch to shut off when the vehicle is off?
