Problem is that people don't spend time training their dogs properly. "It is a golden retriever... Buddy from movie is a good dog so all golden retrievers are good." If you get dog, spend time with it! Also TEACH KIDS HOW TO ACT AROUND DOGS!

Love my dogs and just dogs in general so my instant thought is "how can you not love these little guys?" but it is totally understandable to be afraid. Some can clamp down hard enough to break bone, some won't let go until they want to, and of course people raise a lot of them wrong. Good on these people for taking these steps.

I got attacked twice when I was a teen, thankfully there were people around to help me... It's a real problem in Mexico that people let their dogs roam

These guys should be so proud of themselves for facing that fear. If I see a dog walking down the street, even if it's on a leash, I have to cross the street due to the fear I have of walking past the dog, so these guys all did an awesome job! Much braver then me!

My nana was severely attacked by three german shepards. This is a really important video, because many people seem to forget the damage a dog can cause. Yes, it may not be the dogs fault (bad upbringing, abuse, injuries), but that doesn’t mean they aren’t dangerous. Learning body language and being aware can save lives and trauma.

Maybe taking people who are terrified of dogs and making a dog bite them on purpose is not such a good idea?? What about bringing a very cudly, sweet dog instead.

Some of these are useful, but mostly not really. It is pretty easy to tell when a dog is going to get aggressive, however they can come at you fairly quickly before you have a chance to grab a stick or do anything to prepare. I cycle quite a bit, and for some reason cycling enrages some dogs - even some fairly placid dogs can go crazy if they see a cyclist. Also as a runner too, I regularly encounter dogs being exercised off leach. A lot of dogs aren't trained that well and the owners have no verbal control whatsoever over their dogs. Now not all these dogs are going to bite, but it is annoying when the run up to you and start barking in an aggressive manner. Easy to advise people to not show fear, yeah I think fear is mostly an involuntary reflex ! In summary dogs can come at you quickly or come running out of a property, aggressive dogs know people's blind spots and may attack from behind. Getting attacked by a large aggressive breed is potentially fatal. It is unfortunate that some people don't train and properly take care of their dogs.

So...these people were taught zero skills to defend themselves from a dog attack...? They faced their fears, but they're no more equipped for defense than they were before.

I work as a dog walker and in the area I live in, more than half the people do not speak english (or French, in Canada) and are petrified of dogs. I do understand the fear is PTSD but I can guarantee not everyone I walk past has had a bad experience with a dog. The fear of the unknown makes my job a lot harder when the fact is, I walk a past life expectancy bulldog, and a husky mix that would sell you his soul for you to pet him once.

To see how scared that older woman is of dogs, it's such a huge step let alone to go knowing her intentions were to be attacked today, but most importantly to be in the same room as a large dog off leash AND witnessing it attacking other people. Good for her for having the courage to pet the dog after all that!

I wanna do this. I'm not afraid of dogs, but I'm just curious.

Honestly the fact that the older lady (Meridith?) still decided to pet the dog even after seeing him attack and bite the other three showed how strong she was and how determined she was to get over her fear.
