What Is The Difference Between Moths And Butterflies?

Moths and butterflies are among the most common insects flying around us, yet not many people know that much about them.

This is why we decided to make this video and take a closer look at what makes a moth and what makes a butterfly.

Is there any difference between moths and butterflies? Or are they all pretty much the same animal?

Just to let everyone know, arthropods are divided into two major lineages, which are the subphyla Myriochelata and Pancrustacea, the former contains the myriapods (superclass Myriapoda) and the chelicerates (superclass Chelicerata) whereas the latter contains the crustaceans (superclass Crustacea) and the hexapods (superclass Hexapoda).

This video is very badly made; you show chrysalis and butterflies while talking about moths. Stop being so lazy, stop usinng AI and start visually previewing and editing your videos. Your credibility is damaged by this lazy approach to video making and has resulted in me nev er watching any of your videos again

The reason why those insects were drawn to light has been proved, it’s a muscular reaction to light.

There is a recent study, or at least a scientist team who might discovered that insects do not willingly fly to the light source but actually they turn their backs to the light source, but if this source is local it's easy to go in circles and get lost.

In conclusion, they do not fly to the moon but away from it.

They are basically the same thing, one at night and one during the day. Am I right?

Some species overwinter as caterpillars, some as pupae and a few as winged adults.

The guy who wrote the script, an educated guy, and the guy who chose the images, a clueless guy, should have collaborated!

So butterflies are like a smaller clade separated by a much larger, diverse moth clade within the order Lepidoptera.

I'm not an expert but I'm thinking that the visuals were incongruent with the voice over audio?

Butterflies are a type of moth. Otherwise, "moth" is an unscientific paraphyletic grouping.
