Awesome video and I absolutely believe in your archery skills, its not clear if shield guy had any wrist protection but if he doesn’t next time give shield guy a thick cloth around his shield wrist so that if accident happens god forbid (multiple arrows in same spot/over penetration) and a point reaches his wrist damage becomes minimum. I don’t understand why you would think that this wouldn’t work honestly. The only problem with that scene in 300 is that the shields appear to be made of metal, which would make arrow penetration much less likely.

I don’t know how historically accurate it is though, I suspect that people would want to save the arrows to fire back if possible. However, if your shield wall is about to be changed this might be a viable option for removing things that would make the shield more difficult to wield.

The arrow breaking was the most realistic part about that scene, it was the fact that arrows actually stuck into a METAL SHIELD that was unrealistic.
