Many are worried about the Genji nerf, I don't actually think that it will completely shut him down. He is still a very viable solution for climbing in the high ranks. However, if you are playing in a game that winning really matters (i, e. play offs or finals) then by all means just use sojourn because she pretty much out classes everyone and genji would make sense too but not be as effective as a sojourn or reaper for example.

The part I struggle with the most is using my blade.
The second I pull it out it feels like all eyes are on me. You get bursted down so incredibly quick.
It only really works if someone is injured or you're damage boosted and they receive no healing and have no escape abilities.

It’s so much easier to get value out of other dps. Gotta be really good to get shit done with genji. People just play him cause he’s cool but end up sucking and should pick a different character

I miss a lot of shots on Genji (especially close range right-clicks). How do I fix that? No AimLab, no training custom modes have helped me improve. I've spent a lot of hours on them and I've improved very very little using them. What should I do?

Another tips, play in party with good healer. In this video, you got pocketed by mercy or kiriko. In casual match random matchmaking, nobody heal genji.
