As a Super VR4 owner they are great and very rare only 400 made in Red and Silver paint jobs though on ClubVR4s member section someone found a database of serial numbers apparently 283 were made with a small portion of that having the Red paint job. If you can find a photo of a moon roof vs a sun roof I'd be thoroughly impressed. Manual Legnums are rare as heck most were auto.

Thanks for clearing that up! Got the '98 with AYC, High vis dash and momo wheel and seats so Type S it is <3 At least, it looks like one haha. Explains why manual versions are so rare if they never even came with that from factory, so all the Type S' must all be swaps.

PFL and FL grills will not work with eachother as they have different clearences to the bumper.
Hoods fine, it's the bumper.
You can jam the PFL grill on to a FL with it looking kinda wack, but FL will not go on a PFL.

Another difference a lot of people don't know is with the PFL and FL rear tailgate..
More changes then just a the tailgate.
So bumper is also different.
But the rear sheets are slightly different right at the end.
As the rear hatch area is slightly different, Different hood linings and rear tailgate trim for the inside as well.

And different spot welds and construction in the sheets, PFL will tend to start rusting behind the break lights on the corners and behind the tailgate rubber seals where as the FL wont.
Also the FL gets a extra sheet welded to the chassis to support the rear lower lateral control arm.
Think it's that arm from memory, but yeah. extra bent bit of steel welded in as a supporting bracket.

PFL imo looks more "JDM" i love the look.
But FL is the better car and less prone to rust in a few different spots.

You could purchase a Galant VR-4 Type S in the UK, very rare though.
My Dad used to work for Mitsubishi UK & borrowed a VR-4 for the day, very quick cars but overshadowed by the Lancer Evo.
The twin fog lights actually caused some problems because the outer light came on to laminate whichever way the steering wheel was turned, these weren't homologated for UK roads so had to be disconnected.

A couple of minor mistakes in your video, Evo IVs didn't come with Brembo brakes, they started on the V.
The non wide arch Galant you had pictured was actually a UK spec car that had either the 2.5 V6 N/A or a 2.0 4G63 N/A.

They were dressed up a bit with VR-4 bumpers but not the arch extensions & they had the Momo steering wheel.

My PFL 96 Galant and PFL 98 Legnum both have the hi vis, so I'm pretty sure the PFL's did get hi vis dash clusters, but a great vid!

My pfl definitely had the hi viz dash, im sure I've seen others with it too. Was Definitely factory fitted no signs of any body taking the dash apart.
Was a 1997 pfl, auto, ayc. Still the most enjoyable car I've ever owned, I miss it😢

I had a 1997 Legnum VR4, fastest car I'd own with minimal modifications. And possibly driven, I did do 10 laps in a V8 SuperCar a few years ago but it had a V8 LS motor from regular production SS Commodore, didn't feel any quicker than the Legnum.
I did own before the Legnum a Cordia GSR (SIVART's old blue 1988 AC Cordia GSR) had a ported head and big TD04-15G turbo with variable boost control had at the wheels about 150hp with low boost, never dyno'd with high boost. I didn't use high boost much as mid range was perfect with huge amount of torque, so maybe 175hp mid range. This Cordia was thrilling to drive with massive torque steer and low grip from rock hard Yoko tyres, wider softer tyres would've transformed it.
Late 1990's owned a manual 1989 VN V6 Commodore with 2.5 inch exhaust and head worked maybe 160kw at rear wheels and weighted bugger all, was a pretty quick car with bags of torque, liked to rev a better than standard v6.

Dont laugh as now I'm on a pension and drive a Holden Cruze 1.4 turbo automatic. It's slow, drinks fuel like the VN and no really miss a powerful car and especially the Legnum and Cordia I'd owned in the past. 😪😪

The grilles are swappable BUT you can only put the Viento grille on the new bumper where the old grille fits both.

You can fit a PFL Grill to an FL Grill but not vise versa

At 2:43 saying about fender flares, the galant shown, is not a vr4. Most likely it's a v6 sport. As vr4's have 5 studs, model shown only has 4. I also owned a pfl legnum and a fl galant vr4.

Got a 99 FL type S factory manual Legnum brembo's are amazing. I new it was rare but didnt know how rare it was until a month ago, was going to sell it but not now.

You pronounce Galant wrong. Say it as Gar- Lant well thats how Aussie's and New Zealanders say it.
