Lol, they must have changed something, I had to run a repeater in both directions off of a dust coming off the comparator . Once I figured that out, it works like a charm!! I didn't go lava route, I dug about 90 blocks deep and then placed a bunch of pointed dripstone at the bottom haha. A buddy and I prank each other. Hopefully he falls for it.
