This was great to see! My little one does the army crawl, the bottom shuffling, and rolling across the room (or bed). We were concern she is not going to do the traditional crawl and we were concerned. But I’m happy to see that it’s okay

Thank you for this video! People around me were actually worried as my baby tends to crawl backwards. It’s a relief to know that it is just normal.

My baby (25 weeks old) just started rocking in the four point position and when he wants to reach a toy, he bravely just yeets himself straight forward. I'm impressed by his ability to catch the fall with his face without pain, even proceeds to repeat it a few times. Babys really are a miracle

I appreciate this information. My 8 month old does the step crawl most of the time but he also does the traditional crawl. There is another video on YouTube that states if your child step crawls it is signs of developmental delay and it is because the child did not encounter enough tummy time. I’m so glad I located your video to put my mind at ease.

I was so worried about my 7 month old because he's been doing the step crawl. I had seen another video and read articles that this method will delay their development or that it means something is wrong. I think in my heart, I knew nothing was wrong, but it is nice to have a professional to ease my worry. Thank you so much for this video and including videos of each example!

Thank you for this! Very reassuring. My little one army crawls with both legs opposite hand and opposite foot. He goes so fast. And he will occasionally get on all 4 to rock back and forth when he wants to dance. 😂
He is 11 months old. I was getting concerned. But this is very helpful. Amazing how in a few years some of these mom fears will be a distant memory.
God bless everyone who reads this!

Thank you! My bub is a bum shuffler and is now 15months old. We have just started seeing a physio to help her build the strength to pull to standing because she's been having trouble pulling up from sitting

My baby used the rolling crawl technique for the longest time, then switched to inchworm for a bit, then army crawled for maybe a week, and now he's onto the step crawl mix, but he keeps his leg out to the side and kind of crawls at an angle.

This is super awesome, my 6.5 month old baby just started crawling 2 days ago, she is actually moving using her hands perfectly but instead of using left-right legs she kind of jumps forward like a frog. Thank you for your videos!!

My baby is a few weeks shy of 12 months. She is a bottom scooter. She can definitely get around! Everyone asks us when she is going to crawl already. But I try to let people know she moves around in the best way for her. She will mature at her own rate and that’s ok!

Dear Emma, i wanna thank you so much for this video! Because it's really gives me a peace of mind🙏
In our culture most pediatrician insists that the baby should fist start crawling Army style and then only move to the traditional all four way. And all other formats of crawling are the deviation. Plus if a baby is not crawling by 6 months he is delayed in development.
And this makes so many parents including me to worry and go see different doctors.
But deep inside i do believe that all these ways are acceptable as long as baby learns moving

You have given me valuable tools, I have been very confident with the information in your videos. I am a first time mom and you have taken a lot of guess work out and made the learning process for baby and me painless. Thank you

I would like to add a crawling style, The frog hop. My son gets into the crawling position and will push his legs to throw himself forward which kind of looks like a frog hop. Like a more dramatic inch worm style crawl

This helps a ton. My 8M old does the pivot and she can get up on hands and knees and start rocking but can’t propel herself forward yet but she can do the full 360 pivot shows interest in it and gets up on all 4s so hopefully soon lol

5.5 months and my little girl is at the inchworm/classic crawling stage right now. Also trying to pull up and balance on everything. Such a fun stage lol

Thanks so much for this. My baby doesn't do the classic crawling at all but does a few variations of the examples shown on this video. I'm relieved to know that I shouldn't be concerned with how she gets around.

I’ve heard from other pediatric OTs that if baby is doing a side shuffle crawl or isn’t doing that traditional hands and knees crawl that it’s an issue with symmetry. Isn’t that important???

So so helpful! My nine month old army crawls and also uses her legs to propel herself forward. It’s like she’s doing the Spider-Man crawl on the ground. She’s quite efficient and fast! If you ever have time, I’d love a video in suggestions to help her work towards standing. The pediatrician has recommended I work with her but I’m at a loss as to how to start.
