Engineers from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center talk about what it is like to build, assemble, integrate, and test a custom-made spacecraft like the soon to be launched Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO).

@Fearose there aren't many electric motors on SDO. All the HGAS and solar panels are actuated by springs and gas absorbers.

Am amazed of complexities of human brain, which plays magnificent and complex
intricacies of development of intricate machines on one part, scientific investigation, thoughts of social fabric, precisely thinkers of numerous field, but all in a different ways. but in a small mass in human body.
Will we ever understand.

Hmm...thanks for that. Mechanical is more common than Aerospace in our country. I don't think that they even offer any courses for Aerospace here so I guess I should go to Mechanica thank =)

Well, being them NASA engineers, it is expected that they actually know what they are doing. It would be foolish to try to teach them basic engineering lessons...

...but, on the other hand, many of them are actually struggling to find better, sometimes simpler ansears to both common and exceptional engineering problems, so it is always helpful to speak your mind.

Een if your idea is not good by itself, it may ignite that invaluable spark of insight they so eagerly seek! ;)

well just take Science & Maths, have a very good score at the end, have a good cv with some work experience or a very good end-project with a prototype and youre in .

i hope they know that using larg electric motors is bumb they can cut down waight with smaller motors like pager rumble packs cuz is limited grav forces!
