Is the Google IT Automation with Python Certificate ACTUALLY Worth It?

One of the best certifications offered by Coursera is the Google IT Support Certification

People claim to have gotten a job with this online certificate alone, which is pretty mind blowing.

But is a Google IT Support certificate really worth it?

That will be the topic of today’s video

Enjoy!

This cert is great. It teaches coding well, due this is not easy.
If you don't understand something don't list to move away.
Leave it for one day, then return to the same topic, you will be amazed how much you understand.
Don't be frustrated, bear with me this is basic psychology, 1 day is not the same after two weeks exposing to the same material.

I came back to say, thanks, I just got hired last week and am so happy I chose this route! I went from working at Target Warehouse breaking my body down moving boxes at $17/hour vs to a $35/hour job at google now! In the future I'll be a developer, but for now I wanna take it easy and build up from here. I basically double my pay and can now move away from physical labor. THanks for hte clarification of these courses, it helped me motivate myself to whether I should do it or not. Fortunately they were easy to me! Because I was a college drop out, but still an honor student, I never made far in my life. But with coursera it had helped alot! This is my experience and I'm really glad google take into consideration that not all of us are rich to afford education. Coursera & Udemy the best! I learned Java last year very easily on my own pace in just a month through Rahul Shetty courses on Udemy, it was confusing at first but I keep self practicing and found the key to my own learning. Not everyone learn the same, I take 15min breaks to prevent burnouts and then go back and review things I am confused on. At first I was so confused at all the OOPs and then I eventually grasp on. As I was doing the course I was so shocked that so many people throw in questions to the teachers that I could easily solved, that's when I know I can easily learn any coding language. I read these questions and realized, how did you get stuck? The course explained it, I learned it, I figured it out. But these people didn't, and that's what baffles me. I realized I am good at learning so I helped those people and answered them before the course staff answer them. Eventually I end up taking Python head on, simply because I knew if I can learn Java that fast I can also learn Python. Man Python was easier than Java, but with my learning habit I figure out it in a breeze! That's how I got the coursera course on google IT automation with Python done so easily. Reading these negative comments, I'd highly recommend start with the basics of learning python thoroughly first and advance yourself before taking the course. The WHOLE learning is about opening your mindset to a more abstract way. Learn it with an abstract mind means to consider & accept how things are just the way they were made for. Don't think about the body of that knowledge you're taking in, just focus on what's inside and you'll eventually shape all that knowledge in a way you'll understand it better. Such as when learning a verbal language like Japanese, don't assume that "Michael Smith" is spell & spoke in the same way in Japanese. It may be backwards like japanese people would say "Smith Michael" instead, because that's HOW they were made in their language it makes more sense to them but prob not to you. So you have to be more open & keep an abstract mind and follow a new rule when learning python. I learned javascript by accident years ago and thought Java & Javascript were the same. But I was wrong. They are completely different. But I did find out that they are basically similar in some ways, just like how all our real world verbal language are similar and can be translated! This course is basically like, how would you run a japanese business with japanese-speaking workers and organized from the bottom up of the business if you're not good with japanese in the first place? You may know your basic japanese but you may also be confused with your employee talk to you in complicated terms using their language that you might get stuck not knowing how to fix the situation for your business. That's why it's highly recommend to learn Python ahead first before the course. It's like taking japanese in 3 months of highschool and the teacher expects you to jump to all the roles of jobs that uses japanese language, you'll get confused right? of course! Same analogy. Goodluck!

I feel that difficulty of a course and certificate adds to its credibility. I suggest taking the Python for everyone before this one, and the Meta Database Engineer after it since python and SQL are the two biggest languages to learn

Even i have completely non python experience, I found most of their exercises are based on their given examples. However, it usually take me more than 1 hour to complete exerciese per day

Took a Java script course before and it is always told that a big part of a coders job is looking for answers that someone else was able to figure out before you. People expect everything to be given to them. Research will make you better at problem solving and understanding.

I work as a Manual QA but with some sql, postman, agile experience. I've taken java, html, css, javascript years ago but never used it hands on. My current company uses Python with Selenium, but there is no opportunity for me to learn it here or use it here. I have to do it on my own. What do you recommend?

All these analysis shouldn’t be based off the exception of the person who did it in 3 months. That’s why people give up because they think they should perform like the exception.
