'Lekgolo are individual worms
M'galekgolo are hunters
the reason why hunters go berserk when you kill their partner is because they're from the same colony, and you just killed half the neighborhood.

Another fun fact about Scarabs is they weren’t built to be war machines. Scarabs originally were all terrain mining rigs designed to excavate Forerunner ruins. It was only during to the war that the Covenant thought the mining laser would also be great at excavating enemy ground installations so they armored it, gave it a AA gun for non-ground counter attacks, and sent them to the front lines.

Scarabs are Covenant killdozers, excavation equipment that’s been armored and armed for combat.

Imagine your fighting a few of these guys and they just transform into a bigger hunter

Also, the crew of the Scarab are there to make sure that the worms don’t go mad with power. Seriously

Meanwhile the lekgolo worms are all chanting: " I'm a tank"

Hunters are always so fun to take down.

The Lekgolo race is always fun to think about. Out of all alien organisms in the Halo Universe, the Covennant decided that a race of worms that form colonies to form this large intimidating form, was excellent in making into pawns. And they're right, sinve the Hunters and Scarabs they rely on are incredibly sturdy, and unable to be really taken over by the flood.

Despite that they hella aggressive.

Always good to know others know this, it's one of those details that if you don't look closely or read the books or anything you wouldn't know

Fun fact: the Lekgolo were discovered by a arbiter (not our arbiter) and had the unique ability to take over/override forerunner technology which is why they were able to "pilot" scarabs.

fun fact: The Hunters (or Mgalekgolo, for the nerds of the group) are normally sent out in pairs. These pairs occur when a single Hunter attains a "critical mass, " to speak. It splits like a cell, leaving 2 identical Hunters with the same mind. These are differentiated from normal Hunters by the spines on their back, which prominently display from bonded pairs, and they are essentially two halves of a whole. They sharea bond deeper than that of any other species to date, making them a truly formidable force on the battlefield (especially if one's mate is killed in combat).

The Lekgolo - specifically the Mgalekgolo - are easily my favorite species in Halo, and near the top in all science fiction.

The real worms were the friends we made along the way.

If I’m not mistaken Halo showed the first organic gestalt consciousness you can interact with in a video game.

I never noticed how animated the worms are in Halo 3 and ODST.

Fun fact: the Hunters, Lekgolo specifically, actually gave the Sangheili a hard time in ground battles. The Covenant were happy to have them join for their ability to make heavy soldiers and equipment, and the Lekgolo were happy to join for the economic benefits.

It makes sense cause when you kill the crew it’s still moving

hunters also like poetry.
war poetry, sure, but poetry nonetheless
they also like announcing these poems after killing opponents, if I remember correctly
