I believe greying out the contacts that are not available althought it would be convenient. It would likely require your phone to repeatedly and constantly scan thru all the contacts. Updating and refreshing who is available and who is not. It would use up your battery. Thats why they did it this way sort of on demand as needed. Neat app though very cool...

You know it’s amazing. I watched several videos on walkie talkie for Apple Watch, and not 1 person said anything about downloading the FaceTime app for it to work!

Great overview! BTW is Walkie-Talkie covered by "Do Not Disturb" mode? Otherwise it would seem like a hassle to have to activate both Do Not Disturb as well as the unavailable mode in Walkie-Talkie whenever I'm in a meeting and don't want any interruptions.

I think they should have a CD/ham radio simulator, where you can talk to people in your neighborhood and across the world. This would be a great feature for the watch.
