How to Use Walkie Talkie on Apple Watch

Apple Watch Walkie-talkie is a great way to communicate via voice chat with anyone with an Apple watch.
There is no distance limit for using the walkie-talkie feature.

To use walkie talkie, simply find the walkie-talkie app on the apple watch and make sure it's activated.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and press the plus sign to add someone. Once you add them, they will get a message that you are trying to use a walkie-talkie. If they accept, you will be connected. If they are not available, you'll see a message stating that.

Tap someone's name from the home page and once you get connected, touch and hold to talk. As soon as you let go, your voice message will be sent to the other person.

Other steps need to be done like make sure your email says Apple or i cloud and your friends phone number needs to be on iPhone not mobile it took me a while to figure that out.

For some reason, it’s telling me that everyone I’ve added is unavailable. They have they’re walkie on and they’ve already accepted the invite. Yet for some reason, they always show up “unavailable”. I feel like it’s a waste of a potentially great feature.

I can only talk to the other person if they have the app open at the same time which is very inconvenient. Also it says my other contacts are unavailable

On mine says did not receive your invite. Check that FaceTime is signed in with Apple ID..

I keep trying to set up my wife and say, do you have FaceTime activated or something weird that I get a message every time we try to connect to walkie-talkie mine is working but I don’t know what I did to get hers working

We r trying to set this up. One friend ( all of us are in same room) keeps saying unable to connect. Her watch and phone appear to be set just as ours. Anyone have ideas

Would be a great thing for any company that wants to add a 2 way radio capability to there system but doesn't want to go threw the hassle of getting licenses. This would be a great feature for security companies to use as most companies here in Australia that do mobile patrol don't have the facilities to have 2 way radios or don't want them and chose to just use mobile problem with that in my experiance is it's hard to make a phone call when an offender is actively trying to hurt you. A feature like this just means you can contact the shift supervisor easily and they can get you police so you don't have to take you eyes of the offender.

I have it set up and it works great. I have it set up so that I don’t have to hold down the button. Just tap and talk tap again to listen for reply.

so, the single tap and hold on, just be a double tap, voiceover users. Thank you for sharing this video, and I’ll change my ratings. Glad he demonstrated how this works, with you talking to someone else. Is the message sent instantaneously, so they can reply right away? If you’re not available, where does the message/S go so you can respond later? Do you just missed that message?

checked our FaceTime settings and we're both signed in

only reason why the reading is low here is because voiceover is not on on your watch. Can you do a video voiceover is turned on for those of us who are blind or visually impaired? Thank you, but know that a single tap and voiceover is a double tap.
