In this video we explore multiplication through examples and visual tools.

∞ The connection between multiplication and addition:
To make the transition from addition to multiplication easier, we consider any product as repeated addition. Multiplication is easy through the familiar lenses of addition and that's why we start this math animation with the definition of multiplication, or how it is related to addition, and explain visually the commutative law, aka commutative property.

∞ The multiplication table, aka times table:
The next chapter of this episode is about the first 100 entries of the times table (10x10) and how to learn easy tricks, such as finger multiplication (i.e. how to find products with hand gestures), in order to easily memorize all 100 facts of the table. Remembering the times table will save you a fair amount of time and effort when multiplying bigger numbers.

∞ Long multiplication:
The next step to master multiplication is to learn how to multiply numbers vertically. The vertical method is a neat and safe way to multiply bigger, multi-digit numbers. As part of the multi-digit multiplication work presented in this episode, we focus on 2-digit by 1-digit multiplication and 2-digit by 2-digit multiplication examples.

∞ What does multiplication have to do with the real world?
Apart from the standard multiplication algorithm, we try to make sense of multiplication as whole and connect the actual operation of multiplying with real life and real-world applications. In keeping with that theme, multiplication will be viewed not only as adding groups of objects, but also scaling or resizing anything from the world around us!
