The stop that’s an hour wait is absolutely worth it and such a good price. They’re packed everyday, even now in the cold. So if you make the trip be prepared to wait.

I grew up in NYC.
My go-to as a kid was always roast duck and roast pork on white rice at this place called Big Wong on Mott Street off of Canal.
Back in those days it was $3.50. Nowadays it’s $9.
But every time I go back home, which is often, I always stop by there for it.
Stills tastes exactly like it did 25 years ago.
And it always puts a smile on my face! 😊

Grew up going to Wah Fung and Mei Lai Wah and went all the time when I came back to New York after college. Thanks to all these social media people the lines are out of control and the locals never go anymore, completely ruined something special that the community had. Recently spoke to the owner of a restaurant next to Wah Fung who was telling me about horrible interactions with unappreciative tourists and people trying to film everything. Such a shame.

Glad you love the fujian wonton. My favorite is the peanut noodle and fried taro cake and fried dough. Need to visit Chinatown Ny this month miss it so much.

Looks delicious but the most impressive part is that everything was reasonably priced! Those roasted pork buns tho!

Thanks for the restaurant suggestions, I'm going to try those places. I've been to the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory. That's the place I don't have trouble finding.😊

Glad to know the prices remain reasonable. In Toronto the 6ix, we have sticker shock on all prices, ranging from $10 wonton noodle soup, and $9.75 for a bowl of BBQ pork rice. That is roughly $7 USD. They went as little as $5.99 a year ago.

Food always tastes better when it’s made in a sweatshop. 😃
