"Who are the outsiders?"

Check out this clip from #Mufasa: The Lion King and see the movie only in theaters December 20!

Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.

It is very stunning to see Kiara's expression through this clip. The dialogue between her and Rafiki fits perfectly too. Good job Barry Jenkins! And RIP James Earl Jones.

I’m glad they kept the name “Kiara” like the animated sequel

Really appreciate how the expressions are more noticeable here like Disney was aware of the lack of emotion complaint and chose to fix it for this film. It also looks like this will be somewhat of a loose adaptation of Simba’s Pride with a few elements, but trying to do their own version.

“Sometimes, when the people most like you don’t love you, it is a hurt that can cause the greatest pain. And this pain can lead you to hate everything.”

Timely and powerful.

The deep love and respect between Rafiki and Kiara is as sweet as Kiara’s purr as Rafiki holds her

Fun Fact: This is the first time the continuity of a live action reboot to a Disney Animated Feature Film has taken stuff from straight to video/dvd sequels by DisneyToon Studios, which in this case applies to Simba and Nala's daughter Kiara.

I like this clip very much. Rafiki is like a grandfather to Kiara, who respects him and enjoys listening to his stories. Rafiki is very wise, he is a gifted shaman, and he possesses the absolute great knowledge about ancient times.

Saw this clip on Facebook. Still like it and love that deep line Rafiki gives to explain the hate the Outsiders feel.

This clearly put the foundation for the "We are One" argument in the sequel, like in the animated one: Kiara feels so bad that outsiders were hated by the prides where they born and this could possibly be what would lead her to reunite the prides with Kovu

Kiara is so adorable here! I'm really hopeful for this film the more and more I see of it!

There's an old African proverb that I think applies to the Outsiders very well. "The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth."
