NVMe is the newest storage standard that promises 6 times the performance of SATA, but is it worth it for the price??

Thanks - there are a lot of others doing videos on this (which focus on other parts of the topic). This one was was good because it also gave the wisdom on knowing when to use certain types of storage - and when you're just throwing your money away - because we got all sucked into vendor hype.

I have found that it does matter if the drive is in GBT or MBR format when installing Windows from the beginning. All you have to do however is Shift+F10, go into disk part, choose disk, clean, then convert. After that, usually it works out. Also, UEFI also does matter as well.

Thank you so much for the info bro. No one is really talking about the real world defference, but you did🙏.

I went for 2x M.2 NVME drives in my new build... a reduction of 4 cables in my case... that’s a win for me!

some people are just trust worthy just the way they explain things. theres a difference between gift of gab and actually knowing what your talking about.

On my new build I went with a Samsung N.V.M.E 970 - pro as my main c:
drive and a 860 evo as my d: drive. Windows is installed on c: and on d:
I have nothing but my steam library. I was expecting everything to be
lightning fast but that was not the case, and my old Win. 7 on spin
HDD's was actually faster, ( Windows 10 was no help either ) but then I
noticed that multitasking is far better! and data transfer is now
insane! my game play is far! superior and overall stability of my
computer has made this investment well worth it

Hey man. My primary purpose is video editing, 3d rendering etc. Which one should i get? I have heard that while moving large files or when the drive is filled up it slows down. All i want is a fast and throttle free experience.

This is some great advice. I wonder, though, in a few years, once all multiplatform video games that target the PS5 and Xbox Series X as a baseline, perhaps M.2 NVMe SSDs will be virtually a requirement for PC gaming similar to how a heavily modded Skyrim install requires SATA SSD in order not to crash.

This information correlates accordingly to other reviews on the internet. Yeah NVMe is faster than regular SSD.
But if your goal is gaming(almost 80% of the regular consumer market) than it's not worth the hassle.
Also, you may run into problems because of shared PCIE lanes, like a graphics card that is too big and/or it's blowing hot air into your NVMe SSD, which is bad.
