NVME vs SSD || Are They Worth The Money?

Today we will answer the value question (price to performance) for M.2 NVME vs SSD Drives. For comparison we are using a Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD versus a 1TB Silicon Power NVME Drive.

For testing, we will look at disk bench marks as well as game load times, PC (Windows) Boot Times, as well as File Copy processes. Lastly we will look to answer the question....who should upgrade, and who shouldn't. Are NVME drives worth the money or are SSD drives fast enough for most users? Do they help with cable management?

I'm confused. I thought NVME IS a SSD. I thought the difference was the interface. While older "SSDs" used SATA III, NVMe (factor form M.2) SSDs are able to use PCIe (3 and 4, depending on the interface support). I mean, technically NVME is RAM....just really really fast (and really really large) because of the PCIe interface....but at the end of the day, if NVME isn't a SSD, what is it?

Hi: Thanks a lot for your video.
In my case I use two ssd drives in my Ryzen 5 1600 system: One 500 gb mx500 and one 1tb western digital blue. The first one for windows and software and the second one for heavy software and temporal files.
I am hesitating to buy a nvme sx8200 Pro 512gb and replace my mx500 with the nvme.
I use my pc for ocasional Gaming and ocasional video edition but most of all I convert MKV to mp4, bluray rip and menú creation. Do you think it is worth un get the nvme or a better processor? I ask you because you took a good point. You told that dos video editing you dif not feel a huge difference, just for files transfer.

How about concerning reliability. I take these reviews on Amazon and such with a grain of salt, but so many units just up and failing? Really? Seems odd to me.

can easily see less stutter in vids with nvme vids compared to normal ssds, either people have bad vision r we’re lying to save cash because NVM was overpriced at the time.

Why people usually show load times only aren't and weren't doing this? Test like stutter test? I have no idea, These comparisons it easily shows to me that M.2 reduces stutter and loads textures faster.

With open world games and linear games those differences shows very easy, it's no reason to buy a regular ssd
