The Sermon I PREACHED That Made Me Catholic

I preached this sermon on December 4th, 2016- at First United Methodist Church, Marion, IA.
I wasn't Catholic, but I was clearly wrestling with what God was showing me.
The preparation for this sermon had me in tears in my office when I had an encounter with The Blessed Virgin Mary. Over the years, people have asked me if this sermon was recorded. Today, it showed up in my feed.
I can't believe I found this. I hope you enjoy it.

I am a 74 year old Catholic, and this is the best sermon on Mary that I have ever heard.

This is jaw dropping. Literally have tears in my eyes. A Protestant pastor preaching the truth about our Blessed Mother. Never heard it before from a Protestant. There was little doubt you’d become catholic after that awesome sermon

I was protestant. Then i found the truth of the Catholic church started by Jesus. I knew little about the Immaculate. Now I love her more each day.

Every time I see another Protestant put down our Blessed Mother, I will remember this video. And be reminded that even when Keith was still a Protestant, the Lord was pouring His light on him and can do the same for all of them. Bless you Keith!

Holy cow, you even referenced the typology. This was epic for a Protestant congregation to hear.

Thank you for posting this. I am a Catholic by birth and choice but I have always struggled with the Catholic Church veneration of Mary. I no longer question it. Thanks be to God.

As a protestant exploring Catholicism and Eastern orthodoxy having this served up to me today, it was something I needed to hear and think about. Bonus it was presented in a way that allowed me to hear. Thank you for this.

Mary is the best example given by God of how every woman should be. Dedicated to God and His will. No ego, doesn’t complain, doesn’t think of her own image, doesn’t worry about the future, her hands and life is to be holy, just for God. What an example.

The next time I encounter someone who is curious about the importance of the Blessed Mother I am going to send them here.
Beautifully done.

I went to a Catholic men's retreat where he was the speaker. He was on fire and loved every hour of it ✝️

I was raised catholic, but really didn't understand her role until a few years ago. Now, I am so grateful to her for all her love and intercession. Thank you for reminding me to pray for the people in my life who aren't practising, and to ask her intercession. It was also cool to hear you reference the Nicene creed, see an Advent wreath, and a loaf of bread and a chalice. Wow, God was preparing your heart.

This should be required viewing, especially for Catholics! It’s so cool this was preached in a Protestant church!

This is one of the most Catholic, most beautiful sermons on Mary that I have ever heard! God Bless and welcome to the Catholic faith.

Excellent! I am a 76 year old man. I converted to Catholicism in 1970. I grew up in Mississippi, a very non-Catholic state. I cannot be quiet about my Catholicism, but I try to speak of it indirectly, as you have done, hoping much will b taken in. Direct may become counter-productive. Again, well done! God bless!

Keith I was compelled to watch this sermon and I was completely transfixed by your reverence and respect for our Mother. I am somewhat of a lapsed Catholic but watching you has renewed my fervor for my faith.
Thank you.
