You know! A lot of us are ready to toss a man/woman of God overboard the moment they stumble or fall. I used to watch Bro Swaggart religiously every night when I came back from Sun eve services. Loved it when John Starnes would sing those anointed songs. It was just awesome. And then that night of confession, just rocked my world and I felt I couldn’t look at unbeliever in the eyes for a long time. The media had a Field day and some pastors as well joined the pile on, if you will! Well years later a much more maturity in Christ, I came to understand 3 things:
1. The callings and elections of God are without repentance. Bro Swaggarts temporary fall may have cost him in terms of ministry, finances and reputation, but his calling to preach the gospel was NOT taken off the table. It just went to plan B. A lot of us are on the Lords Plan B.
2. Never measure yourselves amongst yourselves. One of the biggest and saddest things that happened in much of the Body of Christ, was the attitude of “Look what happened to him”, when the attitude should’ve been, “There by the grace of God go I”. And I experienced that personally in my walk years later!
3- lastly, the Lord taught me to look to him not man. I was shook by his act because I was looking at him instead of looking at Jesus. And now that I know this, I’m not wrecked or ruined by another believers transgressions or fall. Instead I try to hold that person up in prayer and pray that he/she will take hold of the fact that they are NOT under condemnation because they are in Christ Jesus.

Watching this man, by the grace of God, emerge from the ashes and heap of a transgression is testimony NOT to who he is, but who God is:
“FOR I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU”

I respect Mr. Swaggart, always have. He is a good Minister, a man of God. I never lost any respect for him, even though he sinned. I have sinned just as bad(maybe worse), God forgive all of us sinners, try to be better. Swaggart is a great and powerful minister, Amen.

I am 68 and was blessed enough to watch Bro. Swaggart broadcasts on Sunday mornings.It was during a bad time in my life but God got my attention through Bro. Swaggart.He was and still is one of the most powerful preachers i have ever heard. Many criticize him but the Lord does not only forgive the sheep he also forgives the Shepard .God gave me a verse concerning Bro. Swaggart "He who is without sin cast the first stone" praise God.
