Toro Lawn Mower Won't Start - Problem Fixed. Use GumBuster by Cleancarburetor on all your machines

The video shown here I posted 2.5 years ago with the intention of helping people getting their lawn mowers ready to cut. At the time I din't know any better!

Even after I published this video, my family and friends still called me to start their mowers every spring. Doing it over and over didn’t sound like fun. I said, it’s got to be a better way! This year I came up with GumBuster, carburetor kit that consist of purge valve and gum solvent can. The purge valve replaces the carburetor bottom screw. Once installed it stays permanently installed on the machine. The solvent gets injected inside the carb through the valve and dissolves the gum in 5-10 minutes. The small amount of starting fluid helps the initial start. Once started, the fuel flow inside the carb cleans further all the small jets and the passages and the engine starts running as it should. This video just saved me $400.oo. I have a Toro personal pace Electric Start Lawn Moeer. It is 13 years. There have only a few times It hasnt started on the first try. It wouoldn't start today. I did everything I knw to get it to start. I was just going to buy a new mower (same) at Home Depo for $400.00. After watching your video I was able to get it to start . Who Knows? It might last another 13 yeare. In 13 years I will be 90 years old.

I just picked up one of these from the side of the road, had a sign saying starts after 6 or 7 pulls, tried that, and at n7 7 pulls it started. The rear-wheel self-propelled didn't work, but after a slight cable adjustment started and worked well. Tried it out on the vacant house yard next door and it is faster than my 70-year-old legs liked. NOT BAD free and hopefully cleaning it some will start easier. after it starts once it does easily. It's not an electric start, but the same mower otherwise.

Thanks for the video!!! I did all the steps, and then it still wouldn't start...I'm guessing it takes a lot of pulls to get the gas back in the carburetor to get it going again, but it cranked up!

I consider that a minor tune up. If you wanted to do a full tune up remove the carb completely and soak it, also replace the pull cord. Sharpen the blade. Oil the wheels.

Marc - the ethanol doesn't destroy the engine. The fuel with ethanol or fuel without ethanol crystalizes inside the carburetor after a long sitting and it prevents the fuel from flowing through the jets. I would strongly recommend replacing the carburetor.

I know this is an old video but there is definitely more than that that needs to be cleaned on the carburetor
