If they can slash and discard their own merch then it shows they are not of any value. People spend way too much on THINGS.

It is easy for them to damage out the items and write it off on taxes versus getting pennies on the dollar for a donation.

Give it to a fashion school. So the future designers can learn about the waste and maybe reuse some of the leather and pieces …

If it’s leather, take it to someone who works with leather. You could probably find a tailor in your area who can try and fix it or attempt to.

Start collecting the hardware. Zippers, clasps, hooks or anything you could repurpose.

Unfortunately people try to return them to get cash even when they donated to charity. There's always someone who will spoil it for everyone else.

I'd do some obvious like decorative sewing the pieces back together. Make the damage fashion lol

Since Ive worked retail for some time now Every year (some do it more/less than others depends on weather or not youre a target store etc) stores have to do an inventory count of every item in the store. After you count them all you compare that total to the total you're supposed to have (given that noone shoplifted any merchandise or had any internal theft) and then that's how you get your "shrinkage" score for you store.... Well during this time after counting them in your total you have to dispose of any "damaged" merchandise (returns etc) and that's When they cut it up and trash it more, then they toss it out. This happens mainly at the end of the fiscal year or last quarter which tends to be late December/January, I'd say those are the best times to dumpster search . No one asked for that info but there ya go haha

Yep! They have to damage it out so it can be written off. When I worked retail they made us break any items that were being thrown out for inventory unless we’d get fired for “stealing” because we didn’t break/damage the goods.

The leather can definitely be used. I hope you can do something with them. I do leather repairs, most often re dyeing pieces, but it wouldn't be obsurd to take the big bag to a leather shop and see what they can do. Or find a local leather artisan.

That cut is clean. Go to a carlot and purchase ( sorryvi dont no real name )
what is used on leather seats. It heals up in 24 hours and you cant even tell. My dogs toe nail ripped my console lid. The nissan place used a tiny bit and told me dont touch it bc it levels itself. I cant even see it now. Im sure it will work on shoes n bags! 🌹

Imagine the blood sweat and tears those seamstresses put into creating these products according to coach’s standards and then they see them just slashed apart just because coach can’t make money off of them

If you get enough of the same patterns you could create a custom bag using super glue. And maybe add some stones or other materials to make it look like it came that way. Ribbon. Etc. I would get creative with a lot of those pieces.
