In this video we'll be in the homelab upgrading from vCenter 6.7 to vCenter 7, using the migration assistant to also migrate from vCenter on Windows, to a vCenter Server Appliance.

Note: Depending on your configuration, the source VCenter server being a Windows box may also throw a error on Stage 2 (Migration); I found the windows firewall not allowing 9123, so I created a rule to allow all inbound traffic from the new VCSA to Windows and then the Pre-Migration checks took off.

Im confused, I thought for 7 you have to run it on linux?

Same setup i have and planning to upgrade to ver 7, currently using vCenter 6.7 windows and going to upgrade to ver 7 appliance.can I use same vCenter licence or which licence we have to use. Will 6.7 windows license work with ver 7 appliance. Pls suggest
