I've worked with Lilith for a couple of years and I used to say sorry all the time for things that weren't my fault, but that pretty much stopped as soon as I started working with her. I grew up with three older step sisters who were abusive and controlling (some have grown up), plus a semi paranoid Christian mum wasn't very fun. I had to deal with all of that purity culture bullshit, I had hellish experiences with relationships in church. So before I was this shy meek person, I wasn't shy as a child btw but I just remember being shut down for anything good I achieved or being made fun of stuff I didn't understand by my older sisters. I was sexually abused by my uncle (I'm a male) and my sisters were worried if I was gay and said that they wouldn't love me if I was, I was 8.

After working with Lilith however, a lot of memories surfaced and I was furious with nothing to take my anger out on, but with lots and lots of meditation I became calmer and with time I was able to process a lot of shit like that and cut ties, live my life. I am now studying to be a massage therapist, and its one of the first jobs that I am enjoying.

I've always felt rejected, and I used to stay in that state of self pity until I realized "They just don't except me because they can't understand me, but I can try to understand and accept me" and that's when I started to embrace being an outsider and it's helped me a lot.

i was scared of working with deities when i first started because i didn’t understand. sekhmet found me randomly on a google search when i was looking up ancient egypt, she is the bloodthirsty lioness of war who almost took out humanity due to her rage, but she is also the goddess of health, and she is bastets “twin”, so she can be soothed into a purring kitten under the right circumstances, so whenever i feel anger or rage, i offer those feelings to her instead of lashing out at the people around me. she helps me through my shadow work and keeps me recognizing my bad coping mechanisms and dysregulation when i feel unsafe or threatened. she gives me strength to speak up and defend myself when needed, but also soothes me and tells me to breathe and relax and give my anger to her when it does not serve me. i love her so much and im so thankful.

Kali Ma is somewhat misunderstood. Yes, she is the Goddess of Death and Time and Darkness - space represents her she is ALL she is EVERYWHERE, but Kali Ma is also a sweet Mother who loves unconditionally and represents Brahman - she IS the "One" who Vishnu and Shiva bow down to. IF you have the space to make a proper alter and are going to make an offering please know she loves fruits (lemons) and even flowers (hibiscus). I don't have space to make a proper alter + I live w/someone else.. But I do offer thanks and gratitude and listen to her mantras just to vibe w/her and show love. Sometimes I chant quietly to myself just to show her love w/o wanting anything. 🖤

Being a black magician - Lilith has always seemed quite ideal for me. I also like Hekate! Or perhaps Hel! I haven't worked with any goddesses yet but if I did - the suggestions you've made are excellent!

Quick lore lesson: the name of the Norse goddess "Hel" was stolen by the Roman catholic church along with the pits of Tartarus from Greek mythos and they called it "Hell" and used it as a threat to non-conformists.

I look at it as more of a counsel of dark goddesses. I submit the request to my counsel and which ever goddess wishes to step in to assist I ask her what she wishes from me or what she suggests for me to do to enhance the energies to accomplish it ❤

Probably one of the best intros I've heard on this topic. Well done! I have always felt more at home with dark energy, but as you said, its not evil. Sometimes receding into the dark helps us deal with the light. I can't vouch for others experiences, but my relationship with Lilith and The Morrigan have not been negative. I like that they are blunt but fair. They won't let me lie to myself or will call out where I might be self-deceptive. They've helped me understand my spouse much better, so I can be a better husband. They've been there to help with shadow work, and understanding what motivates me. They've also taught me to be kinder to myself.

Oh my God you're Medusa story has moved me to tears. (Trying NOT to cry at work. Lol) I am a SA victim and I've spent the past 4 or 5 years trying to sort that out on my own. I've come a long way, but it still gets difficult at times. I've never even considered the option or possibility of working with a deity to help with the healing process. In fact that stuff always made me nervous due to my lack of knowledge and scary stories I've heard. Thank you for bringing this topic into a new light for me. I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump into worship, but know that is there for me to look into has given me a lot more reassurance.

Working with the Morrigan for a little time now came here to look for tips, thing about the dark goddesses (at least with The Morrigan in my case) is that while they aren't scary the concepts they deal with are (like death, in my case). I work with the dead. As a med student I see cadavers quite often and at some point I just got sick of trying to pretend a piece of cloth was protecting me and keeping me isolated while I literally moved their muscles around and decided to just listen to them. No more 'stay away from them cuz they suck your energy' (which I'm not saying isn't the case about some and for some people, but it just doesn't apply to my case). I decided to fully open up to them and listen to them. More often then not, all they want to de is either, vent, cry or have some company that won't immediately shut them down. That is my act of service and my daily work for The Morrigan. However, when I mention people I like working with the dead, practiioners or not they often get scandalized. Death is still such a huge taboo. Same goes with assault and things like that. 'But how can you possibly wish to work with they ask. It's like their way to deal with it is trying to pretend it's not there and that such things just don't exist, but idk, it's just a part of life

As a new witch, the first goddess I reached out to was Kali and she has become my matron goddess. She has really helped me overcome some of my problems and has assisted with justice workings. We haven’t quite perfected our relationship, if I don’t get the offerings just right, she will help herself to one.

A lot of what is worship is gratitude and appreciation. ❤ because when backed into a corner I had strength from her in an instant, it's so easy to feel love and gratitude and appreciation for her. There's everything within us, and for me lilith is aggressive and protective. It's something thats never been me. I have always wished for someone to stand up for me and say "leave her alone" but she's shown me the strength to do that through her. It's easy to be grateful, in awe, terrified, and respectful of her. ❤

Persephone came into my life when I was a child. During my Jungian training, her archetype overlapped with what I was going through at the moment. I was scared of identifying myself with her, so I went to seek advice from an analyst on what to do when life puts me into identifying with a goddess of the underworld. I had no clear answer. I left her by leaving the path to be a therapist. I'm now going back to her via another route. The last part of the video was very useful to know how I can work with a goddess. I'm going to start meditation.

i used to be a christian but went through a long time where my faith wained and i couldnt follow that anymore despite my attachment to it. it was nyx that reached out to me in this low time, she makes me feel what i was told being a christian was supposed to make me feel. she reminds me to be strong in the face of the unknown.
