In this video Chef Tovia Gartenberg demonstrates how to make Vanilla Glaze. this is perfect for Doughnuts, cakes, pastries and etc.

This doesn't take many ingredients at all to make, the secret is not to add too much milk, if you add too much milk you may make it extremely difficult to bring it back when you add powdered sugar.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar/icing sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon melted butter

If the end result is too runny, add a few tablespoons more of powdered sugar until desired thickness.

This reminded me of how my Mom used to try teaching me to cook: Rarely using measuring cups/spoons, instead "just a little splash" or a "couple dashes". When I was growing up, Mom just used powdered sugar & milk for icing our Christmas cookies. I'm about to find out exactly how much the melted butter & vanilla improves it! This is very much appreciated.

for the best results for that pound cake, absolutely use cake flour and DO NOT over mix. Bake it until a tooth pick comes out about 98% clean, it will finish baking from the heat as it cools off. You will have a perfect pound cake. Also, bake it the day before and don't into it until the next day. It will give you 100% perfect result.

Not a big fan of vanilla so I substituted it with Clover Honey to pour over my banana bread. It was delicious!

thanks for this video, i made a cooked glaze for a cake and it wasn't white, it resembled krispy kreme glaze. this way is much better!
