No matter how scary Hollywood make things.
Nothing is scarier than our imaginations.
The fear of the unknown

And, that shark they used actually looked really good. It wasn't like it was some weak mockup, it looked real for the most part, the artists did a great job.

One of the best results of technical difficulty ever.

Steven Spielberg is truly a very diverse director who could direct every kind of genre in films. Action, comedy, drama, adventure, horror, biopic, romance, Sci-Fi and musicals, well he is very talented tbh.

The shark constantly breaking has to be the best example of a “blessing in disguise”

That movie is a one of a kind and always will be. No CGI and it's still an awesome amazing movie to watch today.

Scared of the ocean?! I was scared to sit on the toilet after seeing Jaws when I was a boy.

The darn shark wouldn’t come out of his dressing room for months 😂😂😂😂

He wasn’t kidding when he said “if the shark worked I would’ve showed it more”. The shark was going to be seen during the attack on Alex kinter, there’s actual behind the scenes footage on this, the shark was also gonna be seen during the Ben Garner attack on his fishing boat and I’m pretty sure much much more was going to be filmed, depending on how you look at it the shark not working was a curse to Steven at the time but nowadays it was a sure fire miracle.

one of the greatest films ever made. I've seen it 50+ times and it never gets old or boring. The acting was uncredible !!

Jaws was the first summer blockbuster. I read the book first & then saw the film.
Great film.

Mike Flanagan said it best about the delays of the jump cuts on the few times we did see the “monster”

That still worked in Jurassic Park. I’m not gonna lie.

I love how the Shark was a prima donna “actor” that only showed up to film when it felt like it. Like “No Steven! My demands haven’t been met, so you better pay me my money or there’s no movie!” Lol 😁😁😁

I saw this movie in 75 or 76 while on holiday in Durban, South Africa.
I was too petrified to go into the sea for the rest of the holiday.
A week later, on our last day at the seaside, I finally managed to go into the tidal pool up to my little 7 or 8 year old knees.
I loved to rag my mom about this episode, but she just said we insisted on going to see the movie, so it was our own fault.

Watching this movie on the big screen is a whole other movie than on the small screen.

This really goes to show that it doesn't matter what you're handed, but how you handle it. This would have ruined most movies and destroyed a director's career, but Spielberg turned it into an American classic.

It did. I used to be afraid of a shark magically popping up out of my bedroom floor, biting my leg that was hanging off the side of the bed 😂

I have always maintained that the best monster movies, alien movies, Bigfoot movies, are the ones that don’t show the monster, or at least very poorly shown so that you must invent the rest in your mind.
