No way we are 100 years from controlling the planetary energetic ecosystem. Although we can control most everything meeded for a type 1 civilization, we lack the knowledge to take advantage of the planet without devastatimg side effects. Also, non-electric cars will probably still exist in 50-100 years, which is a direct counterexample to his statement.
