My latest trip to Harbor Freight saved me almost 40 bucks on a $200 total purchase. I stacked 4 coupons to save big bucks. Clamps, woodworking tools, socket organizers and an AWESOME Central Machinery scroll saw! The SUPER COUPON saved me an additional $20 !!
Budget tools are always in high demand, so I give my first impression of this scroll saw and will do a future video review of this harbor freight tool and evaluate its quality and functionality.

Have you had any luck with other blades? I find I really have to use a lot of force with the harbor freight blades

This is a great beginner saw to teach you if your new to scrolling imo, because once you upgrade you will think your in heaven with a more expensive machine. You do need to modify the plate the pinless blade adapter because they will slide off at higher speeds and if you pull the work forward for any reason. Getting the blades into the adapter straight is a bit of a chore and if your using fine teeth make sure to check their direction when slipping the adapters on. Also the tension knob way in the back can be annoying but helps you learn the sound of a properly tensioned blade, it reminds me of tuning a guitar. The plastic removable blade plate could be stronger and wants to dip when working with tiny projects like 3d birds and animals. All this helps a beginner learn how to problem solve and practice techniques so that their next upgrade feels amazingly easier. Reminds me of using different grade musical instruments as you learn.

I had a few saws over the years, and bought my Harbor Freight scroll saw several years ago. It is the best one I've owned. I only broke one blade, due to my over aggressive cut angle.

Nice review/look at the saw Kevin. Looks pretty solid. Hopefully that adapter issue is an easy fix.

Great video. Thank you. Do you still recommend this product? Or another like saw in same price range?
I am just getting into this to aid me in creating small mushrooms, etc. No home building, etc.

How easy is it to change the blades on this one? I saw another guy say that the blade holder falls off and it's not easy to insert the blade into a hole if you need to make those types of interior cuts. Your machine looks like HF fixed that issue. Is it easy to pop the blade off, push it through a hole, put the blade back on and continue cutting? Hopefully that made sense.

These type of scroll saws are you say an entry-level and ok to get you started. There are many saws like this all from the same factory just rebranded.
I started with a similar style saw then upgraded to. Using the pinless blades with the adaptors can be a pain but you will work out ways to do to it.
Most definitely bolt it down it will help with any vibration meaning you can stay at the saw longer and will help with finer cuts.
If you learn how to use the spiral blades (some love them some hate them...) they take a bit to get used to and there is a learning curve. I use them and for fine detail work and straight blades straight lines and larger curves etc. Also you will be able to do slightly larger projects since you don't have to spin the whole project which can be limiting.
However I upgraded to the Excalibur style saw (and even in the manual says that it is Excalibur) though branded as something else... and have never looked back... I really should do a review of my scroll saw peoples have been asking...

You could rotate the blade 90deg and run a long piece through as long as it's no wider than 16 inch on the side towards the "throat" of the machine.
